Solid California 1984 Jaguar XJ-S V12 Sport coupe. This is an H.E model. 72K odometer miles. Engine runs strong. TH400 GM automatic transmission shifts very well into all gears. Runs cool, at 1/4 temperature. Straight body on charcoal gray finish with maroon interior. The Jaguar runs and drives well. It is a light restoration project: it needs paint and the driver's seat bottom reupholstered as pictured. Also, I traced several vacuum leaks, had a dead battery, needed tires and spongy brakes. I have addressed all these issues. I think there is still one more vacuum leak somewhere as it hesitates at idle, but it runs good. This XJS was previously owned by an English gent for at least the last 16 years ( based on the old registration cards). I am NOT the original owner, nor do I portray it as such. The man purchased my 67' S-Type Saloon which he took to England with him. He was short some funds thus I received this XJS from him. It is released to me, and I am the legal owner. Still has its old original 1980s' California plates on.I have no other stories other than the truth; it was not my wife's, nor my grandmother's or my pastor's Sunday car. It is a running, driving project, being sold exactly as described and photographed. Registration is due from June 2018 ( irrelevant if it is sold out of state). There are no liens, citations nor parking tickets on the car. The engine alone is worth more than my opening bid! V12 Jaguars are extremely scarce nowadays ( much less running for this sort of price), and H.E coupes are the ones to own.
The photos show this XJS accurately. A very solid, unrestored Jaguar V12 . It runs well. It will make an excellent base for a concours restoration or a killer track car for a modest amount of money ! Fun to drive around or tinker with as it is. * My nearly 1400+ all-positive feedback and the vehicle's condition and photographs speak for themselves.
I am a long-time British-car enthusiast and owner. I've been around them (Land Rovers mostly ) for over 30 years, and have owned various models and vintages. Feel free to call me with serious, pertinent questions at (650) 430-4660 PST or text message if preferred. I have priced this 1984 XJS below-market to sell. You simply cannot find these Jaguars anywhere for this price, without being totally rotted out, in terrible worn-out shape or being sold by some questionable type in some equally questionable area. My reputation and my feedback are my card. Given the alternative of purchasing a $40K+ restored example, this original Jaguar is the most sensible alternative. European classics are the best investment for the money, and they are going to keep going up in value. I am also advertising this vehicle in several other venues, and as such, I reserve the right to end this listing at any time should a serious BUY-IT-NOW offer present itself.
