Description of 1961 Jaguar MK II Stalled Restoration Project, Complete & Solid |
This Mk II Jaguar is located in Appomattox, VA, 24522 Not In Lumberton, NJ I am listing this Jaguarfor my friend, Frank. Hehas been restoring this 1961MK II sedan for about 10 years. His health got the best of him and he can not finish it.This MK II is a all metal carwithno rust. The non matching number 3.4 liter engine and full syncro, 4 speed overdrive transmission are rebuiltwiththe rear differential gone over with new bearings. Acomplete brake, fuel and cooling system(s)overhaul was performed with most accessories / components gone through, either rebuilt or replaced. This is not a concourse restoration to factory specifications, colors, etc.. It is what Frank wanted, a quality driverwith some slight improvements for safety and reliability. Frank also sourced a factory (Artic-Kar?) complete air conditioning system. A new correct black leather interior, carpet to headliner is with the car. Nicely refinishedwood throughout with good glass and chrome. This Jaguar mainly need assembly, new tires for the refurbished wheels(one pictured) and possibly a factory wire harness if you like. Frank was rewiring the car, using the correct color wires whileupgrading the fuse block(system). She is 100% complete with a few extra spares, i.e. original wide bumpers, nowpictured with later thin ones, nice original tool kit, etc. The 3.4 liter engine with the overdrive gearbox(later full syncro)areboth freshly rebuilt and in the car. The engine runs great, is very quiet, maintaining excellent oil pressure. This engine ran for a couple of hours, for several days, before installation. The suspension and brakes are completely rebuilt, presently the front sub frame is loosely bolted onto the car for ease of transport. There are many parts not pictured. Again, everything is there. A lot to talk about here. Best to giveme (Joe)a call at 609-518-0878. If you are interested, I can put you in touch with Frank, he can go over things with you in much more detail. Track Page Views With Auctiva's FREE Counter |
