Description of 1974 Jaguar E-Type XKE V12 Roadster Classic Collector Convertible Car |
I have always referred to my Jaguar as a survivor that certainly has the bones to become a concours automobile if that's your goal. Frankly, I always wanted and own, and original, numbers matching, very presentable automobile that I could enjoy on occasion with perhaps a little less trepidation. I purchased my '74, in 1996 from a physician here in the Twin Cities. The odometer reading at that time was ~29,000 miles. Based on Minnesota weather I have enjoyed driving my Jaguar, when possible, from late May to the end of October. The car has always been garaged at home and at the office. Before retiring and/or not traveling on business, I tried to drive the Jaguar once a week to the office; weather permitting. My Jaguar is a well-maintained specimen of British Motoring History. It has spent several months, over the last two years, with my favorite mechanic performing general maintenance and installing the new items listed below. I have all service records on the vehicle from the date of purchase. Body chrome, bumpers (aka over-riders), upholstery and carpet are all original as are the convertible top, trunk liner, tonneau cover, and tire jack including case. The NADPI steering wheel, fire suppression system and Alpine cassette/radio were installed by the previous owner. All gauges are functioning as is the clock. The exhaust system is stainless steel. New items include five-period correct radial tires, shocks, brakes, dash, console, sun visors, and XXX Triplex windshield, plus a spin-on oil filter, car cover, new floor mats,& battery tender. Additional items that go with the car when purchased include: · Weber carburetor set that was on the car when purchased · Custom bonnet (hood) bra created by members of the Jaguar Club of Minnesota · Two Owner's manuals · Shop Manual · Other miscellaneous car parts including the original steering wheel (minus center ring), oil filter assembly, floor mats, and locking gas cap.
