Description of 1988 Jaguar XJ6 |
1988 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas YES, 46K ORIGINAL MILES - same family but technically two owners. I flew to Boston roughly eight months ago and drove this beauty all the way to Denver, Colorado. Before departing Boston, I had all the fluids changed and the car put on a lift for inspection. The tires were so dry rotted that I replaced all four tires in upstate New York, at the same time I switched back to the stock factory wheels and center caps that appeared to be brand new; the aftermarket Dayton wire wheels are included with the car as well. It took about 100 miles for the engine to open up and I ran injector cleaner through the tank on every fill up. During the 2000 mile trip, I noted all items that I wanted addressed. Here's what I completed once in Denver: Repaired Air Conditioning System Removed Hydraulic Adjustable Shock System and Converted To Coil Over Kit From JagBits Completely Went Through The Brake System and ABS Computer, Certainly the most COSTLY of all repairs Replaced Rack and Pinion Boots / SealsReplaced Lift Shocks For Hood and TrunkHad The Paint Wet Sanded and PolishedSimple Clean On The Interior - No Deep Cleaning or Shampooing Removed Antiquated Alarm System and Car Phone I got the Jaguar back to a reliable daily driver and used it around town for the summer. All of the body panels are still marked with the VIN identifiers and I don't believe it's ever had any paint work. As shown in the pictures, the body is straight as an arrow. The pin-stripping shows some fade in areas. The car spent it's entire life inside a garage with a cover as well, the car cover is included as well Flaws and Items that still need to be addressed: Dash still blinks a code for Circuit One Failure and Bulb / Lamp Failure, the passenger's side rear door handle is not functioning and works sporadically, the driver's side rear door only opens from the inside, at some point the hood was closed with the battery positive pole not protected leaving an arc mark on the inner hood, some sagging in the headliner, power radio antenna is broken. It's a Jaguar so I'm sure there are items I'm missing but it's never let me down once I addressed the main issues. Interested buyers are welcome to test drive and inspect in Denver, Colorado. If you need any additional pictures, just let me know and I can run out to my garage. Shipping is not a problem and I can assist with getting car loaded; I wouldn't hesitate to drive it anywhere in the United States.
