Description of 1972 Jaguar E-Type Series 3 Coupe |
Too Many projects and not enough time to finish them all. I am reluctantly putting my 1972 XKE V-12 Series III 2+2 Coupe Project car. up for sale. The current two Jaguar restorations I am doing are simply taking far longer and costing far more than I expected. So The Untouched project waiting its turn in the wings must go!I wrote these words over a year ago. and I am sad to say that they are still true! Given my love for this car and the alarming way these Manual Transmission XKE's are increasing in value. I chose to pull this car OFF of the market back then and promised myself that I WOULD DEFIANTLY get around to refurbishing it. Well the fact that you are seeing it for sale again just shows what these passionate commitments mean. Also for those of you who (like me) are constantly on the look out for an affordable XKE should Note. That This car I am selling may be the Last GOOD and relatively inexpensive E type you are likely to see. The Values of these cars especially ones in as good of condition as this car with wire wheels. good color combination and the all important 4 speed manual transmission are simply going through the roof. I have purposely priced the Reserve price many tens of thousands of dollars BELOW those prices! In short This is a good solid project with very little drama. I have priced it fairly. I am including most of the parts you will need to put her back on the road. Simply put There is no disappointment here!here is the run down:The car is equipped with the four most desirable options (In my opinion) that the Series III cars ever came with. #1) 4 speed Manual Transmission. #2) Wire Wheels. #3) Air Conditioning. #4) Biscuit Interior. and chrome blade bumpers. This car needs a full restoration. there is rust in the floors where you would expect it (Though quite repairable). I have purchased and I am including the panels you will need to make the repairs. These panels are "Martin Roby" built and as such are very high end and guaranteed a perfect fit. The sills on the drivers side are sound but the passengers side will require some attention where the battery mounts. The motor spins freely on the starter and key and does get oil pressure. I do not believe the car has ever been wrecked and the panel gaps are all very good. The majority of the interior should be reusable with a through cleaning. Tires new . Exhaust system. chrome wire wheels. glass. chrome and most trim are all very good and will all be re-usable. The car comes with new master cylinders (both Brake and Clutch) and a new Brake Booster servo. Genuine Factory Repair manual. and loads more parts are included with the saleThe car comes with a full set of brand new. Performance carburetor's. Up grade Kit for the car. This very expensive package is produced to order in Germany and includes "new-in-the-box" carburetor's. manifolds and linkages. The Works! With this set up the already very powerful V 12 simply ROARS! in addition to the intake manifold set up the car also comes with many additional parts. |
