About the Jaguar XJ-Series: The Jaguar XJ-Series was their flagship model beginning in 1970 with the first generation carrying through 1992. In 1973 the XJ-Series model would receive generational styling changes, as well as, in 1979. This final Series 3 design would embody subtle styling improvements by Pininfarina to include a revised roofline and thinner door pillars allowing a new, one-piece front door glass aiding in extra visibility, along with recessed door handles, vertical grill bars, and relocated reverse lights into the lower taillight assemblies. Jaguar's new stellar design on the XJ-Series would become an icon for the manufacturer. The eye-catching luxury model continues to be one of the most recognizable generations of all time! Collectors continue to cherish their top-of-the-line features, excellent road manners, and overall ease of maintenance today. Details About Our Available Jaguar XJ6: We are proud to offer for sale a one-owner 1986 Jaguar XJ6 Vanden Plas Sedan that is beautifully finished in it's all original Black exterior over a highly complementary and factory Doeskin Tan Leather interior! This well-kept 80's Jaguar was purchased new from a Jaguar dealer in New York as a gift to a mother by her son in early 1987. He was a successful Wall Street executive and knew his mother had always loved Jaguar cars! What he didn't know was that she had already ordered a new 1987 XJ-S V12 Coupe for herself just months before from a local St. Louis Jaguar dealer. She elected to maintain both of her cherished XJ cars exquisitely, always servicing them regularly, by Jaguar specialists only. The two models were then parked in a heated, basement garage, where they were kept since new. Since then this example has traveled only 33,016 miles from new, and remains in excellent shape throughout! Options and features include an all original 4.2L DOHC Bosch L-Jetronic Inline 6 cylinder engine, automatic transmission, air conditioning, burled walnut dash, leather-wrapped steering wheel, power windows, power-assisted 4-wheel disc brakes, power rack-and-pinion steering, 15" alloy wheels, Pirelli P4000 Super Touring tires measuring 215/70R15, electric sunroof, AM/FM/Cassette radio with power antenna, an onboard trip computer, carpeted floor mats, and more. Upon purchase, this luxury Jaguar will come complete with original books, keys, and recent servicing which included a new battery just last year. At 94 years of age, this longtime owner of 3 beautiful Jaguars finally said a tearful goodbye in March 2020. And we promised to find them all good homes.
