Description of 1967 Jaguar E-Type 1967 JAGUAR E-TYPE XKE COUPE. SERIES 1.25

Offered for sale, from KURT TANNER MOTORCARS, is this highly original and well-preserved California Jaguar E-type Fixed Head Coupe. This car was recently purchased from the believed 4th owner and has been sitting in the same California garage since 1983. It’s a highly original specimen that is largely untouched save for one simple repaint. The original sales order shows it was sold new on 10-1-67 to a Mr. Richard Milanovich at Brentwood Motors in Santa Monica, CA for $6,153. He traded in his used 1966 E-type Roadster at the time as his down payment ! He owned the car for about 5-6 years and then sold it to a Mr. Richard Bitro of Rancho Cucamonga, CA. around 1973. A Mr. Warren Abraham in La Verne, CA purchased it around 1975 and kept it for 8 years until finally selling it to the current selling family in 1983. The daughter of the owner states that her Dad rarely drove the car as kids were on the way and a family station wagon was now the mode of transport. The bodywork on this car is very good. It’s a well-preserved California car with only the slightest trace of a rust bubble under the spare tire area behind the RH rear wheel (photo). The lower portions of the doors, rocker panels, battery box area, original floors, all look entirely excellent and rustfree. Panel gapping and fit is excellent. The car appears completely accident-free, even the bonnet. The doors, rear hatch, bonnet all fit very well. The has had one simple “blow over” cheap repaint in it’s original color which is showing it’s age with chips, flaking, lifting. We’ve touched in a few spots to make the car all one color. There are a few small garage dings from being stored over the years. Chromework is decent and showing normal age. Most of the car’s rubber has now hardened in the California sun. Glass all around is good with a replacement windshield. The car’s interior is completely original but has partially deteriorated over the years. The leather on the front seats and armrest needs renewing along with some of the original carpets. The rear hatch area looks very well preserved. The headliner is OK. I think an interior restoration could involve some careful restoration or saving of original items mixed with newer materials, as a preservation effort.Mechanically, the car is all together and highly original like it was last running in 1983. The car’s matching numbers driveline looks untouched. The engine turns nicely by hand and we will be attempting to start the engine soon by supplying a fresh battery and fuel to the carburetors. Please stand by for the video. It will still need a fuel and brake system rebuild to drive on the road. The exhaust system underneath looks very nice. The car still retains it’s original lifting jack and handle in the bag, spare chrome wheel with tie-down, knock-off hammer, front Amco bar. There’s a host of original paperwork items included such as the lubrication chart, original purchase order, maintenance and work order receipts, old CA registrations, original 4.2 Liter service handbook, 3 Motorola radio pamphlets, the original Jaguar manufacturer’s warranty card, and maintenance voucher booklet, all in the burnt orange Jaguar literature pouch.Overall, a really original and well-preserved, 4-owner documented E-type that has lived here in California for all of it’s life. Going forward, this car is perfect as a preservation survivor or light cosmetic restoration candidate. Please look at all pictures / video and call or email with any questions. We will assist in shipping worldwide.
