Beautiful Washington State Rust and Rot free CJ5! 10 Year Frame on Restoration! Thanks for looking at my CJ 5! I bought this Jeep out of Washington state in 2004. At that time the 3. 5" lift. rebuilt drive shafts and AMC 20 rear end split axle had been converted to a single (much more reliable). The guy I bought it from had just painted it. This is a summer fun car for me and I've put less than 1. 00 miles on it each year. I've never had it off road. My goal at the time of purchase was to restore the Jeep to as like new as possible. This is what I started with:Base features. Dana 300 gear driven transfer case (shifts and stays in 4 low. 4 high and works awesome). The gear driven Dana 300 is bullet proof!AMC 20 rear end with converted single axel (3. 54 "open" gears)Dana 30 front endT-176 4 speed transmission (CJ5's never came with an automatic but some did come with the not so great T-4. The T-176 is the better tranny)304 V8Front disc brakesPower Steering Very solid all metal body (no filler. bondo or fiberglass)! Here's a list of things I've done to it although after a decade of improving it. I'm forgetting something:New Interior/Exterior items. BestTop soft top (this thing has never been used because I only drive on sunny days on the top stays off in the summer)Bikini topChrome tube bumpers and nerf barsChrome windshield hinges. mirror mount. steering wheel and guage dashboard platesCarpet with sound deadening insulationGlove boxCustom family roll cage (welded to the frame)3 point shoulder seat belts at all 4 seatsAll gauges and indicator lights work! (including high beams. parking break. 4 wheel drive- even the cigarette lighter!)New taillights 31X10. 50X15 Kirkland radials with chrome spoke wheelsCustom dual Magaflow exhaust (awesome sound yet not too loud with the top down)Front and rear shackles (with grease zerks)Drive train. 304 V8 Motor rebuilt less than 3. 00 miles. Bored . 30 over (309 ci) with mild cam. Edelbrock intake with Holley Truck Avenger 470 cfm 4 barrel carbNew Exhaust manifoldsNew radiatorNew batteryNew clutch and clutch linkageAdded windshield washer reservoir (yes it works!) New chrome pumpkin coversThe brakes and tires are in great shape. I've had some work done to the steering so the Jeep drives straight down the road the there's no play. You couldn't ask for a more solid CJ5. This thing turns heads everywhere I go. It's a blast to drive. starts every time and drives exactly how it was meant to when it rolled off the factory floor in 1980. I've invested nearly $20. 00 in this build. I just had the Jeep appraised for $15. 00 and have the reserve much lower. I've research what market value is and set the reserve right at that number. You won't be disappointed! Why this Jeep isn't perfectThe paint has some chips and a couple of places with small bubbles. The seats do have some small tears and I am in the process of getting them reupholstered. The radio has never worked and a couple of the wheels have some surface rust. If I were to keep the Jeep I'd put on 33's (plenty of clearance) with new wheels. Serious biddersWe should talk.
