Description of 1974 Jeep CJ CJ-5 |
This is a 1974 Jeep CJ5 that has been converted to a fire truck. It is my understanding that this jeep was bought new by the fire company and sent to Hahn Manufacturing in Hamburg PA who did the conversion. This jeep has 59,000 miles on it and has been garage kept and in service until a few years ago when it was replaced by newer equipment at the fire company. The jeep has brand new springs and shocks and will come with the original springs which are very heavy duty to carry the water tank full. The frame is not rusted. There are some minor rust spots on the body and the floors have been reinforced over the years. The paint has some bad spots from where the original lettering and stickers from the fire company were peeled off and lifted some paint. The motor is a 258 inline six with a 3 speed manual transmission. The jeep runs, hifts, and stops as it should. I have not done any mechanical work to this jeep other than fluid changes the last couple to years. Obviously it was maintained by a fire company and kept in service for 40 years.
This jeepcould be added to your collection as a one of a kind rare unit,it could be used as a functioning fire truck today, r you can just ride around and enjoy the heads turn when you drive by. I have an antique plate and registration currently on the Jeep and use it for riding around and parades. Please contact me if you wish to come see the Jeep before bidding I will gladly show it to you. Thanks |
