Description of 1987 Jeep Comanche Sportruck |
I rescued this baby fromthe wreckers! My Neighbor was ready to call the local junkyard to come pick her up Apparently the Hood release cable failed on him and he couldn'tget the hood opened, o the truck sat for 4 years, attery died, nd so forth when I got the Jeep from him I was able to open the hood with-in 5minutes and she started right up ( after I drained the old gas) This jeep has been awonderful little project for me I literally brought her back to life. I was intending to convert this 4cyl- 4 speed 4x2 into a 6cyl- 5 speed 4x4 but then I found another Comanche Eliminator and this project stalled. I have an In-Line 4.0L 6cyl motor with all the dressings including a new ECM ready to be installed just need an AX-15 transmission the Motor IS included with the sale of this jeep also Included is a D35 rear with 4:11 gears, picked that up as a side project. I really don't want this Jeep to sit through the winter and I know I just don't have the time to put into it this Comanche is a great Jeep AS-IS, had it registered and drove it around for a few months before I found the other Comanche Eliminator and transferred the plates and registration and Insurance over She starts right up and Idles perfectly. I've done a lot of minor time consuming things to this Jeep like: clean the copper ends of the OE interior lights so they work I replaced the Brake switch- lights work including back-up and Brake. I put in a new horn pad here'sanextensive list of the repairs I've done: New Front Brakes; Rotors, alipers, ads New Rear Brakes; Drums, ads New shocks all 4 New springs New Upper and Lower control arms Complete new Steering linkages; tie rods both inner and outer, rack bar, nd Steering Dampner New sway bar bushings and end links Re-manufactured Steering gear New Exhaust Manifold and motor pipe New Front Windshield New Horn pad New Hood release cable New Emergency Brake cables This Comanche has NO structural Rust at all it only has minor surface rust in some spots as shown in the pics because it sat for so long, ater collected on the drivers floor and on the passenger floor and rusted out the floor pans I completely repaired both floor pans with new metal they look great! the guy that did the work for me also Line-X the floor to prevent any future water build-up The Interior of the Jeep is really nice, t's not showroom but really nice. the door panels are un-molested and I have the Door pulls/ Armrests as well just haven't installed them yet The bench seat was removed to do the floors so I took the time to thoroughly clean the fabric and replace the rusted out brackets with newer brackets form another bench seat- the newer brackets were blasted to remove any minor rust then Primed I haven't yet painted them-I'll leavethat up tothe new owner. These Sportrucks apparently came without a carpet, t just had a thick sound-deadening vinyl pad. The wheels that are shown on the pickup belong to the Comanche Eliminator and are NOT included with the sale- You'll get the Original 15" Steel wheels and tires I Have over $5500 into this jeep so I'm looking for at least $4250 If you have any questions please ask I'm located in Long Island NY I have this Jeep Comanche offered locally as well so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time this Vehicle is being sold AS-IS Where-IS with no warrantees either Expressed or Implied |
