This no-reserve auction is for a 1993 Jeep Wrangler YJ with the 4.0 inline six-cylinder “Power Tech” HO (high output) engine and a manual 5-speed transmission. It starts, uns, rives, rakes, teers and rides just great for a 22 year old Jeep. It was purchased new from a dealer in town here and has been in Iowa the whole time (brief stint in Illinois) thus it has seen snow, ce and especially road salt that entire time. The first question you should ask when buying a Jeep (especially a northern Jeep) is about the rust. They all have rust after just a few years. This one was no exception. The body sheet metal was ravaged with rust. The frame has some also with the worst areas being in and around the rear spring shackles. There are repair patches (steel formed for welding) available commercially for the frame if you want to go that route. I repaired all of the body sheet metal and sprayed a coat of undercoating (rear side) and primer/paint (front side). I have done nothing with the frame but if used for light-duty street use I don’t see it as an immediate problem. If you are looking for a perfect body and frame you can skip the rest of my description and look elsewhere. This Jeep has never been lifted or altered since it came from the factory. It’s all original and shows its age. Engine & Drive Train: This is the original “high output” option engine (largest offered in the Wrangler) matched with the factory original transmission and drive axels. The engine starts and runs great. It doesn’t leak any fluids and the ground beneath it is always dry. The four-wheel drive works properly in both the high and low range. It has power steering but no air conditioning. Body & Top: The body had severe rust when I bought it. I cut it back, atched the holes with sheet metal and sealed the floor and interior cabin area. There is no rear seat or rear seat belts. The hard top fits securely and I replace all the top weather seals. The half-doors close properly however the half-window seals are loose and leak some water inside. The windshield has a number of cracks in the glass but they do not affect the driver’s vision or pose a “break” threat. The half doors have slider-glass windows that work properly. The hard top side windows are glass and are clear. The rear window is Lexan and is new with no scratches or breaks. The hard top paint is excellent. The Jeep body paint is very rough, cratched and dull. Tires & Wheels: Factory alloy wheels look good but close up show the miles of road use on some parts of the finish. The spare wheel is basic steel. Tires (P235/75R/15) have very little tread left on them. The rear spare tire is brand-new and excellent. Brakes are front disc with good pad. I have not inspected the rear brakes (drum). The Jeep brakes and stops smoothly and properly with no noise from either front or rear brakes. There are no fluid leaks. Electrical: All lights, witches, iring and connections are original and work properly with the exception of the engine temperature gauge which need a new sender unit. The heater and defroster blower work properly. AM/FM/CD Player with twin speakers works great. New Parts: Replacement radiator (from a 1995 Wrangler), lush/new antifreeze, ew serpentine belt, ew muffler and tailpipe (exhaust pipe & converter are okay), ew rear window, ew rear view (interior) mirror. Legal: No warranty is implied or intended with the sale. I have told you all that I know about all of the conditions I examined. I have a clear title in my name that will transfer immediately in all 50 states. There are no liens on the vehicle. Condition of Sale: Payment (in full) is expected within 7 (seven) days of the end of the auction. Only two payment methods are acceptable to me. A Cashier’s Check drawn on a major US bank (Wells Fargo, tc.) for the full amount or cash when you pick it up (if within the 7 days). I want it gone within 10 (ten) days of the end of auction. I will work with either you picking it up or with your transit company if you contract shipment. This Jeep can be driven back to your home, f you want to go that route. Conclusion: I want the winning bidder to be happy with this Jeep with no surprises when they pick it up. Look at all of the pictures, sk questions and match your expectations to what you see here. This Jeep is 22 years old and has issues compared to a newer, etter cared for Wrangler. Be comfortable about what you will be buying. Ask questions! Look at all the pictures! Do not bid on my auction if you do not intend to complete the terms and payment as specified. Thanks for looking!
