The shape is unmistakable, specially with the doors and top removed, nd thanks to a new black paint job and a set of authentic Renegade decals installed just a short time ago, t looks incredible. Thanks to professional workmanship throughout, t feels tight and fits together quite well, nd while a lot of these CJs led hard lives, his one has obviously been taking it easy since the work was completed. Heck, ome Jeep guys might scoff at how bright and shiny this one is, specially with the chrome grille and bumpers, ut nobody will argue that this isn't a great-looking off-roader. Add in the brutal-looking tubular bumpers and massive spare tire hanging off the back, nd it looks to be ready for just about anything.Inside, his one is almost too nice to venture into the dirt, ith beautiful high-back buckets with handsome black seat covers and a matching rear bench. There's also a useful center console with storage and cup holders, nd a pair of nice-fitting rubber floor mats over the floors, hich are wearing black carpets for a more upscale and luxurious feel than you're accustomed to in an open Jeep. The original gauges look good in their shiny stainless instrument panel, nd they're joined by a modern AM/FM/CD stereo head unit. There's also a tilt steering column and custom steering wheel which make it feel far more sophisticated than you'd expect. This Jeep also includes a bikini top for emergencies or days when the sun is just too hot, hile there's a matching black hardtop and steel doors for truly inclement weather. Wouldn't this make an awesome daily driver? In 1984, ost Jeeps carried the 4.2 liter inline-six, hose torque output and reliability are the stuff of legends. This one was fully rebuilt less than 2 years ago during the restoration, ith a custom carburetor and air cleaner and a clean finned valve cover up top added to complete the look. MSD provided the ignition system and there are recent hoses and belts to make it reliable. Power steering is probably mandatory with those giant tires and it carries front disc brakes that make stopping drama-free. The chassis is in excellent condition, ncluding the 4-speed manual transmission and 2-speed transfer case, nd much of the hardware looks to have been recently serviced. New beefy off-road shocks manage a full lift kit, hich provides plenty of ground clearance for some pretty hairy rock-crawling with room for those giant 33x12.50-15 off-road radials on polished ICW aluminum wheels.A muscle car for the dirt?
