1981 Jeep CJ-8 CJ8 Scrambler Restomod Restored Lifted V8 V-8 Auto Badass

1981 Jeep Scrambler that my father and I rebuilt from the ground up. We found the jeep in a field in Okeechobee City back in 2007. We stripped it down to bare frame and started. The frame has been powdercoated gloss black, long with the front and rear custom 2x5 steel tube bumpers (fabricated by us), he roll bar and many miscellaneouspieces. The suspension is from Rubicon Express, t's their 4.5" Extreme Kit with upgraded Wrangler leaf springs front and rear. It is sitting on 35"x12.50" BFG All Terrains in 15x10 Chrome Steel Wheels. The wheels have some rust on them. The underside of the body was coated with truck bed liner. It is the original steel body, ot a fiberglass or aluminum replica. Also installed is a 1" body lift. The interior has all new carpeting, nd a custom rear deck with matching carpeting. There are Rugged Ridge vinyl bucket seats and a locking center console. The dash is custom, ade from a piece of 3/16" aluminum, ousing all Autometer Sport Comp gauges, Sony radio and 2 6-1/2" Sony speakers. Inside the tailgate is a blackaluminum 20 gallon fuel cell. It feeds all stainless braided line, Holley Blue fuel pump and filter and to the 650cfm Edelbrock carburetor. The entire jeep is rewired with a Painless Wiring kit. The transmission is a Torqueflite 727. The front and rear ends have 4.10 gears and a Detroit Locker in the front with manual locking hubs. The engine is a 360 from a Wagoneer completely rebuilt by S&H Machine in West Palm Beach. It was bored .10 over, tock heads cleaned up and rebuilt, omp Cams cam (.490/.490), delbrock intake manifold and 650 Carb. I added the "1J" to the VIN, ut the VIN actually reads "CCE88E7BT063187", er FL DMV records.

The cons : The steering box leaks as does the rear main. the drivers side rear panel has some bodywork areas that need attention. This was driven on weekends, nd usually only once a month.
