Description of 1985 Jeep CJ CJ8 |
This jeep is a VERY STOCK ... cj8 scrambler . I Bought this several months back. Its been a great project. THE PAINT had been KEYED by someone and the insurance co. decided it would cost more to fix than THEY deemed worth it so they gave the owner the money for it and he bought it back from them. IT HAS NEVER BEEN IN AN ACCIDENT. This is VERY STRAIGHT. I purchased it and started all the Paperwork to bring it back up to current. It runs GREAT. and is ready to be a daily driver. I have paid all the DMV fees. I have the original title and all paperwork. It still needs a brake and light inspection and a smog (it was smogged and passed 1 yr ago/i have the paper to prove it) to complete the paperwork to be ready for CALIFORNIA roads. Other states can probably just use the title and reg it. May need smog in your state too depending on where you live but again it passed fine just a year ago in CALIF where smog 2 is much tougher than anywhere else. I will eventually do the abovemyself but will raise the priceonce they are done.Other Jeep CJ8's on here are going for between 16k and up to 32k.... So its priced fair I think. Looks great has clean full harddoors and half hard top. Motor runs great. all gauges work. I added a 2nd temp gauge in place of the amper / volt gauge. The Heater works good. lights all are great. Just did all the front brakes including master cyldinder. Rear brakes were checked and all worked good. i did do the rear wheel cylinders b/c one was leaking. I also changed the brake booster. so the brake system is about 85 % brand new. The E brake works good too. Has NEWER at least 90%YOKOHAMA MudDiggers. Brand new winch, rand new Blue Tooth stereo that has all the inputs to use with the your phone or ipod etc. New carpet, ew Bestop Seat covers (the seats are not ripped but I wanted black color). GT Steering wheel. It is Automatic Trans. Tilt wheel. Rancho springs and shocks. Solid bulk head. All great shape. Nice straight body. Looks like the floor boards have been replaced. Probably had some rust, ut thatall seems to havebeen dealt with nicely. I have checked all over it, nocked and tapped with a screw driver.. it seems to be real real solid and straight. I am no expert but its a great jeep ready to drive daily. Runs nice and smooth. Others are on here for 30k plus. This one is very affordable and will be a great jeep for anyone. DON'T MISS IT...916...208...0727.... The only thing that I can even say negative at all isI had an incident with the shifter on the steering col once. When I put it in park I didn't pay attention andmake sure its was all the way in or something...itdidn't go in all the way and it popped back in reverse. Scared me. but i caught it .. no problem.. Itried to re create it and I noticed if you don't pay attention, t may not go all the way in. But now I just make sure its all the way over. and haven't had a problem since. I also make sure that the E Brake is set to make sure if it diddo that again, t would not get away from me. I checked all the mechanism underneath and it all looks new. It was just user error I guess. There is an adjustment boltand I may do an adjustment if it needs one. Anyway, ther than a small ding here and there and a small fixable star in the front windshield this jeep is awesome and in excellent shape in my opinion. Ask questions tho and your more than welcome to come see it b4 you buy it if you want. Disclaimer The following is mostly common sense but there are some people who don't posses that.. so I want to make some things clear... A jeep likethis is over 30 yrs oldand have been ownedy several people before me.. and therefore may have things im not aware of.. such as alterations .. bondo... loose nuts and bolts.. adjustments needed THAT I MAY HAVE MISSED etc.. I have done all I can to make sure this vehicle is safe but i can surely miss things to.. also.. don't think I can possibly know if a 30 yr old vehicle has bondo.. rust I can't see.. missing bolts etc.. you would think this is common sense... but I want to make sure I am clear and up front with you.. before you call to come see it or buy it online... Again, n my opinion its a great solid jeep as it sits. But MY opinion may be different from yours so ask questions and call if you want.. |
