Description of 1990 Jeep Wagoneer |
I have owned this classic Jeep for 2 years - it was my second vehicle, and has been pampered while in my care. 1990 was the last year of production for the "Wagoneer Limited," a mini-Wagoneer built on the reliable Jeep XJ platform with 4.0 straight 6 engine. It's fun to drive and always gets friendly honks and waves from Jeep aficionados. The 4x4 works excellent! Overall, this Jeep is in very good condition for its age, but not perfect. Please read entire description and see the many photos prior to bidding. I recently bought a B.O.A.T. and my wife says one of them has to go. Cosmetically, this Jeep is pretty much intact - which, if you've shopped for these, is very hard to find. All of the original moldings are still attached, and the original woodgrain stickers are still in very good condition. All power options work: power windows, locks, mirrors, driver and passenger power seats. Transmission shifts as it should with no issues, and the 4x4 system works great. This could be an excellent daily driver in its current condition, for someone who wants a unique and capable off-roader, or complete the paint and exterior work and make it a true collectors car. During the time I've owned the vehicle, over $8,000 has been spent on maintenance and repairs. Mechanically, it needs nothing (that I know of.) Most of the work was done by a local Jeep specialist, Roswell Outback. No check engine light, no leaks. It passed emissions 11/25/2014 - since then it's been exempt from emissions in GA, but I have no reason to believe it wouldn't pass now. I would not hesitate to drive this Jeep anywhere. Here is a summary of the work I've had done: 2014
2016
Exterior Condition: Paint is original, and mostly in good condition. I had planned to have only the problem areas painted for a "light restoration", but never got to it. There are a few spots of rust (shown in pictures.) The drivers door has minor damage to the top molding and some denting, and there is some rust along the bottom panel. There is also some rust on the front quarter panel adjacent to the bottom of front driver's door. There is a crack at the bottom of windshield on driver's side & some forming at window seam. The original 15" alloy wheels are straight all-around, but showing their age - a professional polishing would go a long way, or find replacements on eBay. The tires have around 30% tread remaining & will need to be replaced eventually. There is minor cracking and rust on the chrome back bumper (small spot near center.) Added bonus - I found a roll of the original 3-M woodgrain that's applied to the body on eBay. There is about 6' remaining that is included with auction; enough to replace the woodgrain sticker on driver's door. Interior Condition: Generally very nice! No cracks in dash. All door panels are good & show little to no wear. Driver's side armrest has crack in vinyl (barely noticeable.) The driver's seat leather is showing some wear, but still soft and supple with no rips. The sand colored fabric inserts in driver and passenger seats have some light stains (see pics). The backseat looks brand new. The carpets are excellent throughout, except one dark stain on driver's side floor. (Not sure what it's from, came to me like that.) The leather steering wheel has some nicks where the color missing, but is still presentable and smooth to the touch. There are some scratches on the steering column where the previous owner's keys rubbed against it... could easily be painted. I replaced the factory cassette deck with a Pioneer CD player w/ Bluetooth, and replaced the 4 speakers located in front doors and back hatch were all replaced with new Pioneer's. (Original Cassette Deck is included with auction & worked when I switched it.) Original clock in dash working, but I also have a blank "clock delete" panel that you can install & use the clock in the new radio if you prefer. The original jack appears never to have been used at all... The original owner's manual is included with vehicle. Two sets of OEM Jeep keys are included. Still has the window sticker from 1990! ($26,978 - expensive for its time!) Any questions - please ask prior to bidding. On May-09-16 at 10:10:13 PDT, seller added the following information: **** Here is some additional information about the work I had done on the Jeep in 2014 after I purchased it that is not mentioned above: Replaced rear pinion seal, Replaced front axle U-Joints, Replaced oil pressure sending unit, replaced track bar, replaced front crank seal and harmonic balancer, replaced transmission cooling hose, flushed/replaced transmission fluid, and rebuilt inhibitor switch. Including items mentioned above under "2014," the total was $6,986, with another $2,100 spent on repairs in the last 6 months. Documentation of all repairs included with sale... Looking back, it wasn't a very smart economic decision to invest as much as I have in this Jeep (reserve is far less than the repairs were,) but I wanted it sorted out mechanically before moving on to the minor cosmetics it needs. (In for a penny, in for a pound I guess I figured at the time.) Make my loss your gain... |
