Description of 1964 Jeep Other |
My son found this sitting in a field here locally in Enterprise and it is in surprising good shape for sitting outside. This would be a good base for a restoration project or just a good all purpose work vehicle around the farm. ranch or whatever even in it's current condition with just a little more TLC. We have been wanting to restore one of the neat old cab forward Jeeps but have decided to sell this one and try to find a pickup bodied unit. We have done some work on the unit and so far rebuilt the carb. changed the fuel filter. oil & oil filter. installed new spark plugs. distributor repair. new points & condenser and put in a new Interstate battery. It had some bad fuel in it and while most of it was drained it does run a little rough but we feel it is running much better the more we drive it around as we must be burning out the bad gasoline. It currently does not shift into third but as we said above we don't think this will be too hard to repair. This Jeep does put a smile on your face to drive just because its a great ol' classic and you just do not see many of these around that much anymore. We do have the title for it and it is clean. We took several pictures to show the current condition and we can take more if you need to see something additional about it. The cab and the entire unit is free of any serious damaging rust issues. Only surface rust. While the interior also needs to be redone it just isn't missing anything other than some of the glass. It has a snow plow mount still on the front but it could be easily cut off from the frame where it is welded and ground back to a factory looking frame horn. The cab does have some old damage and the body putty is cracking out in a couple of places. All in all a very solid 50 year old Jeep that just needs a new home! We have relisted it as our previous buyer couldn't complete the transaction due to a very real health concern and we wish him the best and a speedy recovery! |
