I tried to list everything I know of that could be wrong with this vehicle, but it's been really well taken care of and maintained it's entire life. I put 34,000 miles on it in my 17 years of owning it, most of them being the first few years of ownership, the rest being a garage queen. This Jeep was bought new by a former customer of mine who was a purple heart veteran and a Mason. (The Jeep actuallyhad purple heart plates on it at the time I got it and shows on the reg docs included).I got it from himwith 104,000 original miles on it in early 2000 while working at a local auto repair shop. The Jeep has been mechanic owned ever since, and for the last 10 years maintained by the mechanics at my shop with all records in that time frame included with vehicle. In the spring of 2000 the family and I drove it cross country from Northern CA to Oklahoma/Missouri area, stopped at Grand Canyon along the way. About 4,000 miles round trip. Unfotunately on this trip it rained for the entire 2 weeks and driving at freeway speeds in rain took off most of the original woodgrain on the sides. I eventually had a painter buddy of mine paint the original woodgrain area white, so it now has a 2 tone white look to it. It had a salmon color sealer under the woodgrain. Also included is a pic of it when I first got it when the woodgrain still looked good. In 2004 I was contacted by Collectible Automobile Magazine requesting pictures to use in an upcoming story on the History of the Wagoneer. Included with the sale of the vehicle is the June 2004 issue featuring a picture of the Jeep, and my name listed in the credits. Also included is the correspondence letters and a sample issue they sent me. This vehicle comes with the original receipt and paperwork from when he first purchased it, several old reg documents showing the purle heart plates, a couple business cards, one with a note on the back reminding himself to take his boat out, the other indicates he was in Iwo jima. The vehicle is powered by an AMC 360 with a Motorcraft 4 Barrel, Ignition System recently swapped out from a Prestolite system to a much better Motorcraft System,GM TH400 auto trans, 3.54 geared Dana 44 axles, and aQuadratrac Transfer Case. A/C compressor is a York. It has had a custom 2nd gas tank and a receiver style trailer hitch installed by previous owner. Haven't finished installing 2nd fuel gauge, but mounted it in the glovebox. Both sending units replaced by my guys a few years back. Vehicle has a Kenwood Stereo/CD and a Code Alarm System, Factory A/C blows cold. Has a single Flowmaster muffler installed into the original single exhaust system. SOunds about like a late model Chevy truck sounds with a Flowmaster. A cheap muffler will quiet it back down if the new owner chooses When I first got it at 104,000 miles I re-sealed the transfer case, and changed the chain while in there. looked perfect, but chain had some stretch, changed the Timing set, Oil Pump gears, as well as any needed maintenance to get ready for a trip cross country. The bad: Couple spots on front seat as seen in pictures, Instrument cluster lens came loose in there, and cluster needs to come out and lens reinstalled, Oil Pressure gauge stopped working years ago, Headliner started coming apart, and was removed, Misc small dents on top of hood, Rtfront fender, Speedo gear adapter housing leaks a little, need to add a little fluid to the Transfer Case periodically. A very small rust hole at the bottom of the Rt rear quarter panel was patched with metal, and sprayed with flat white afterwards, barely noticeable, but shown in the pics. also have a picture of the backside where you can see the metal patch. Really was the only bad spot on this California car. Still have the original steering wheel, a few emblems that fell off after my buddy painted the sides, and several quarts of Quadratrac fluid that will come with vehicle. Also should still have the stainless strips that go over the carpet in the rear that I took out 17 years ago to make it more comfortable camping. Haven't found them yet, but do believe I still have them and if I can find them, will include them with the vehicle. Recent maintenance performed here at my shop in the last 10 years that it's been maintained are: -New Tires, Front and rear brakes, Front brake hoses, Front shocks, Differentials serviced, and a 7 way RV plug installed Oct 2015 at 138,000 miles -New Master Cylinder, Alternator, Voltage Regulator, and Alignment at 137,000 miles -New Flywheel, Starter, Transmission front pump seals, Rear Wheel cylinders, Both Fuel level sending units, Reseal Transfer Case at 136,000 miles. -Resealed Power steering pump, Transmission service, Belts, Hoses, Thermostat, Valve stem seals, and Carburetor Kit, Change over to Motorcraft Ignition system, A/C rebuilt that goes from compressor inside to unit. I wouldn't hesitate to drive this cross country again.
