This is a really cool 100% rust free 1979 CJ5. It has been in California since new. The original paint finish doesn't have much shine left but after all it is a Jeep with just the right amount of patina. This unit has a tremendous amount of character in its entirety.The overall appearance is very attractive and completely honest as-is...The odometer reading is 44,369, however due to the 5 digit odometer we have no way to verify the actual mileage.

-Nice wheels, tires have decent tread remaining, however upon close inspection you will find minuscule cracks. We recommend new tires before any longtrips.

Mechanically the CJ is superb. The 4.2 lt inline 6 starts right up, is in good tune and runs extremely well. The idle is smooth and steady. The Jeep doesnothave anynoticeableleaks and does not smoke or overheat. As with any 38+ year old original vehicle it is expected that there will always be something that needs attention (gaskets, rubber items, seals, etc). The clutch is perfect and shifting through the 4 speed manual transmission is almost effortless. The 4x4 (with locking hubs) engages properly. Mechanical and electrical systems all seem to work fine. Heater box is in tact. The brakes, steering and suspension all felt great when tested. All of the gauges show normal readings. The Jeep is a blast to drive and alwaysreceives compliments.

The interior is pretty basic and in good overall condition (see pics).The floors paint has worn off in some places. Original painted dash looks terrific! It does come with a soft top/frame (a+)that is in fair-good condition. The rear plastic window is damaged but otherwise it is decent and will be good for transport. Softdoors are ingood original condition.

This very attractive CJ-5 is probably one of the mostoriginal completely rust freeJeeps available. You would be hard pressed to find another one this nice. It is turn key and ready to be enjoyed now! We enjoyed our time with this CJ and hope the next owner/operator will appreciate it as much as we do. The new owner will be pleased with the overall lovely condition.
