Description of 1988 Jeep Wrangler Laredo

Thanks for looking at this Clean '88 Jeep Wrangler. The Jeep runs out quite well for an older model, it has the original drivetrain with 164,000 miles. AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION! 4x4 works well with no noises at all, the front axle has been converted to aftermarket cable, replaces the defective vacuum system these Jeeps had. This Jeep has NO RUST at all. You can see the pictures of the frame, the original paint still shows on the frame. It has a hard top and full doors, the tires and wheels are like new on it as well. She's a very good Jeep, it likes to be warmed up for 5 minutes before takeoff as any old carbureted vehicle does. Previous owner had the Automatic Transmission rebuilt by a professional and it works perfect, you can look and see it also has a new torque converter, although I don't have the paperwork to show the work was done. I performed the infamous "Nutter bypass" and put a brand new carburetor on it. This Jeep likes to go 65 mph down the interstate, although it will do faster but I just don't recommend it as it has no over-drive gear. You could drive this Jeep home out of state if needed, it really does go down the road nice. It has old Jeep quirks like wind-noise and the Gas-gauge does not read accurate at all, I just use the trip odometer to decipher my gas level. It does not leak any fluids except one small drip of oil if it sits for several days, very little, just trying to be 100% honest. It may burn a very small amount of oil, (does not smoke) again I'm only being picky with it, I added less than a half quart after 500 miles of driving. Keep in mind it runs good but its 30 years old with 164,000 miles. Paint is OK, but you wont win a show.lol. Again just being honest. Weatherstripping is getting worn and cracked.
Only one bad thing about this Jeep: It does not pass emissions!!, Nor will it ever, therefore I will not sell it to anyone living in an emissions area. This is the only reason I am selling it or else I would keep it forever. Breaks my heart I have to let it go because of this!
Shipping: Buyer is 100% responsible for shipping and all charges. I can help the buyer to meet the shipper if needed at my home. Thanks!
