Wife's CJ5 is in good condition. She wanted a Jeep she could just jump in and go with no worries. (I wanted a V8). But now her left knee surgery has made the clutch too hard to work and she needs/wants a toy with an automatic. 1977 Levi Strauss dash/windshield and seats. Dash looks almost new. Great shape. Only CJ5 with a dash clock! Body has rust and dings and scratched spots but gets complimented every trip you take it out. It is old school fun. Money has been spent on mechanical. not cosmetics. All gauges functional except speedometer and sometimes fuel gauge. Emergency brake not functional (missing a part and have not gotten it back to shop to fix yet. )Professionally replaced in last two years: 2 front springs. 4 shocks. steering shock. Battery. bushings. idler arms. tie rod ends. brakes. wheel cylinders. lines. u-joints. tires. water pump. clutch. caster wedges. hoses. cover. 4 Firestone Destination tires. and MP3 player/receiver. Motor. transmission. differentials. and bearings all checked out and function as they should. Even the wheel hubs turn with 2 fingers! Stock rebuilt motor purrs like a tiger and sounds sweet (like a CJ5 should). No headers. All stock stuff except glass pack mufflers. Tailpipes out back. so you don't roast and smell exhaust at stop lights. Spent more than $6700 to have a fun driver. (You know what this stuff costs when you have it done right. ) And it has been fun!Mostly used at the lake to ride around to weekend sales in the sun. go to the store. and get gas in the skis. But have had it down the river and up a hill or two in the woods! It does great at both callings! Will consider trades for V8 boat or automatic/convertible vehicle with a hitch. Please ask questions and bid with confidence.
