This 79 CJ5 Jeep was sold new in California in 1979 and lived there all its life. It was recently shipped to the northeast but was never put on the road and still has its title from California. Engine is a 258 inline 6 with 2 barrel cab and rare T-18 4-speed transmission. Manual brakes and steering. Has had one repaint (from previous owner) in its original color Russett Metallic. Jeep is all original sheet metal and frame is perfect. Please examine pictures closely. She is a little cold blooded when first started but once it warms up it runs consistently perfect. Shifts and drives smooth and clutch it great. Very low first gear makes you feel like it is in 4 low. Transfer case shifts perfect and works in all ranges. Odometer shows around just shy of 89,200 and though I believe this to be correct based on the overall condition, I cannot claim it is correct. Engine does not leak or smoke and is powerful going down the road. Top and seats have been replaced at some point and are in nice shape. The biggest flaw with this is that some idiot hacked the dash as you see in the pictures. There is currently no radio or speakers. It has also recently had a new steering gear box and shaft installed. Blower motor is not working and I have not investigated to see what the issue is. Other than that, everything works as it should and Jeep presents very well overall but is not a show Jeep. VERY NICE above average driver quality is how I would best describe it. I will be happy to hold and/or assist with shipping as needed. I don't want to misrepresent it in any way so again please examine the pictures and ask any questions before you bid. I will be happy to give you the information you are looking for. Reserve is set below market value of what these Jeeps have been selling for. This will only increase in value as time goes on, Thanks. - Joe
