Its military heritage is obvious right away - there's no doubt this 1990 Jeep Wrangler is one capable looking ride. That rugged outer shell combines with a host of improvements its manufacturer heaped onto the model to up both its ride comfort and handling capabilities. And as far as actual off-roading is concerned, this Wrangler will have you covered and then some. It's sporting seriously upgraded power under the hood from an LS engine, so it's well up to any challenge you send its way. It may be most at home plying its trade over unforgiving terrain, but once the mud is hosed away, a sharp looking workhorse awaits underneath. The Wranglers of its era carried plenty of charismatic curb appeal in just their factory trim, and this sure-footed warrior ups the ante in the looks department via some nice add-ons. Its white exterior features powdercoating over the bumpers, fenders, rockers, quarter panels and step bars and, if you head around to the front, you'll see that the custom vented hood carries a HiLift jack, tow loops have been added in both front and back and a heavy duty winch stands by behind the front bumper should either you or a fellow motorist need help pulling out of a difficult situation. All of which underscores the notion that it's all about action with this Jeep. Powerful LED headlights sit in place of the originals for added visibility and the swing away spare tire behind the cargo net in back just looks flat-out cool. The interior features some nice touches of its own. A pair of Corbeau front seats equipped with four-point harnesses have been added and, while they're plenty comfortable for everyday driving, they also feature a snug fit for support while navigating more rugged terrain. A Bestop bench seat takes the place of the original in back and still carries plenty of padding, as well as a pair of head rests, so your back seat passengers will ride in comfort. The dash area is in very strong condition - the pad running across the top has yet to develop any cracking and all of the gauges on board sit behind crystal clear lenses. In addition to the two rows of spacious seating, the storage area in back is substantial. Back when this '90 debuted, powerplant choices maxed out with an inline 6. It was certainly a very capable engine, but the electronically fuel-injected 5.3 liter LS Vortec V8 now occupying center stage under the hood brings the power on board to a much higher level. It fits nicely in the well-maintained engine compartment with its aftermarket air cleaner in full view. The four-wheel drive feature is both in good working order and easily activated and, when you combine the available power with this Wrangler's appreciable ground clearance and 3.73 ratio limited slip rear end, you have a motorized mountain goat on your hands here. The 4L60e 4-speed automatic transmission is equipped with a trans cooler, and along with smooth power steering and power disc brakes at all four corners, makes for easy driving in more commonly encountered situations. This rugged customer conquers terrain on its set of very clean looking 17" Pro Comp Extreme wheels outfitted with BF Goodrich Mud Terrain T/A radials.
