Description of 1985 Jeep CJ Renegade

***After listing the vehicle, I'm very surprised to see it has such a low AutoCheck score. The reason for the low score is because it states the vehicle has a lean against it. Rest assured I have a clean/clear title in my possession and there are absolutely zero liens on the vehicle. If you have concerns, your best bet is to run a CarFax on the vehicle to see a true, ACCURATE summary.

1985 Jeep CJ7 Renegade in very rare ONE YEAR ONLY color code 5B, which is Medium Green Metallic. This Jeep is one of the nicest survivors in existence! Unmolested and very original. Original paint, very low mileage, and absolutely zero rot anywhere!
The interior is incredibly nice. I took the seats and carpet out to capture photos of the interior of the tub as good as possible. No tears to the original honey denim seats. Fold and tumble rear seat is beautiful, and the carpet is very nice. The carpet is not perfect, but an easy 8/10...and I'm picky. Look at the speedometer and the other gauges and you'll see how vibrant they are! Between the vibrant gauges and the black rocker panels (they turn silver over the years as the anodizing fades), you can tell this Jeep has lived a very pampered life. Very strong running 4.2L 258 motor, and the T4 transmission shifts nice and tight. 4WD engages perfectly. All lights, gauges, blinkers, etc. work perfectly. Soft top is in extremely nice condition with no tears, fading, or yellowing of the plastic windows.

I have the original owners manual and tons of maintenance records. This Jeep was meticulously cared for, and you can easily tell!

The engine is unmodified. All the original vacuum lines are in place, and everything appears to be original. I purposely did not detail the Jeep or engine compartment as I want the buyer to see exactly how the Jeep stands presently. No surprises. I try to be as transparent as possible when selling a Jeep as nobody likes a headache. Below is the FULL disclosure of the Jeep to the best of my knowledge.
  • Jeep appears to be 100% original paint inside and out. Some minor rock chips on the front fenders.
  • Decals appear to be original except for the "RENEGADE" decal on the hood. Not sure why, but it was replaced at some point.
  • Interior is very nice. Seats are 9.9/10. Carpet has a tear on the rear fender well seam, which can be repaired by sewing to make it undetectable. Some other minor cosmetic blemishes on the carpet. Check out the photos closely.
  • Jeep is approximately 34 years old and does have some minor leaks. Replacing the rear main seal, oil pan gasket, and valve cover gasket should fix all these. Also the driver side rear axle seals has a slight leak. A days worth of work to make this a leak-free, reliable driver.
  • Doors are not original and were painted to match. Doors are very close to original paint color, but not perfect. Some angles you can see that the color is ever so slightly off.
  • Passenger side door only opens from the inside. I have not taken it apart to diagnose, but should be a very minor fix.
  • Radio antenna is broken. Needs to be replaced. Radio power is disconnected, but does work.
  • Jeep did not come with a center console.
  • Battery is only 2 years old, but I've had to jump it twice.
  • Front bumper has a slight bend on the passenger side. It can easily be repaired by a reputable body shop.
As you can see, this is one of the better original Jeeps out there. I'd like to say fly in and drive it home and though I think it would make it anywhere, at the end of the day it is a 34 year old Jeep. If you need assistance with transport, I have a very good (reliable and best rates around) transporter who I have used throughout the years and can give you his information after the sale. Or better yet, drive to Tucson with your trailer, drink a beer with me, and trailer your new Jeep home....this is always the better option if you ask me.
$25,500 or best reasonable offer. I strongly believe this Jeep is priced very well considering the condition, rarity, and mileage. Low-ball offers will simply be declined immediately.

IMPORTANT: $500 immediate deposit. Balance due within 3 business days via certified money order or bank wire (preferred). Title will be mailed promptly upon payment completion, and tracking information will be supplied. Jeep is expected to be picked up within 2 weeks of sale, but I'm flexible. Please don't get approval from your spouse after the purchase. Make sure you want the Jeep and you're actually able to financially make the purchase prior to clicking the "Buy It Now" or "Make Offer" buttons.
