Description of 1981 Jeep CJ

You are viewing a 1981 Jeep Cj-7 Laredo. This is an original. unrestored CJ that still wears it's original paint and Laredo decal kit! The odometer shows 47K miles and that may be the original mileage due to the fact that the Jeep was in storage for many years and not driven. This is a very solid Southern Jeep that is very deserving of a restoration. The CJ-7 Laredo Jeeps have become very collectible and are only going to appreciate in value. Here are some details. nbsp;Original 258 straight 6 engineT-176 4 speed transmission4WDPower steeringFront disc brakesTilt steering wheelFactory tachometerRusty's Off Road lift kitFront sway bar quick disconnectsLockers33x12. 50 tiresAluminum wheelsEtc The paint and body on this Jeep are in good original condition. The paint is 34 years old but is actually still presentable. The body is very solid with just some small rust areas on the rockers behind the diamond plate. The floors still wear their original paint and are very solid. The frame. body mounts. and wheel houses are very solid too. The body is pretty straight and would look great with a set of new fender flares and a professional buffing. The interior is mostly all there. The original dash and rear seat remain as does the leather grab bar. The front seats are replacements. The jeep comes with a bikini top and half doors only. Mechanically. the Jeep runs and drives good. The motor starts easily and runs well. It sounds very healthy and does not run hot. smoke. etc. it holds good oil pressure too. The trans shifts good with only some slight grinding when down shifting. The clutch feels like it might be slipping a little at times. I have only driven the Jeep around my neighborhood due to the fact that it has been off the road for so long. The tires are in surprisingly good shape. I do have the spare and spare and spare tire carrier as well. Overall . the is is a really cool survivor CJ that with a little work could be driven and enjoyed as is or fully restored and quite collectible. Many of my auctions end with just a phone call. I can arrange shipping worldwide. 205-276-1918
