Description of 1983 Jeep Wagoneer |
This 1983 Jeep Wagoneer Limited was the top of the line Wagoneer in its day. It has the original 360 V8 engine and is original throughout. AND...it has only 71,500 original miles. It has been VERY well cared for since we acquired it in the spring. Since we currently have five Wagoneers (and six chidren), we would like to start looking at a less cramped driveway as the kids leave home for school and the real world. I buy, work on, love and save Wagoneers in my spare time. I've been buying more and more since they are getting SO HARD TO FIND IN DECENT SHAPE! But the time has come to thin the herd. This vehicle sports the extremely desirable Hunter Green color. The faux vinyl wood is not the best in the world (home applied), but rar from the worst. The power train has been recently gone over and the following was done during the last several months: new timing chain, new Holly carb, new distributor and lines, new ignition solenoid, new used NOS starter, new cam shaft, relatively new exhaust, new spark plugs, new battery, new fuel sending unit, new muffler, many new hoses and more. It does have some rust and I have done my best to reflect where it is in the pictures. Mostly surface, but there is a golf ball size hole in the rear cargo area and the quarter panel rust through is shown in the pictures. She starts right up and has the normal Wagoneer 1-60mph in 15 seconds, but maintains a healthy 70 mph once there. The 4WD switch over functions as it should and it is GREAT in snow. As a true Wagoneer lover, we never replaced the original and torn driver's seat because...we just didn't. Children make that an act of futility. The electronics are are functional. The rear window goes up and down as it should for rear cargo access, but it can be temperamental. All other windows and electronics function. The driver's seat electronics are also temperamental. The radio is original and in working condition and I have four new/OEM speakers for the door panels. Only one speaker works at the moment. The tires are all good and all have the original 1983 Jeep hub posts. The interior carpet is 39 years old but does not smell or have any molding. If you are looking for a rare and beautiful specimen, love a little patina, appreciate the boxy look of this 80's classic, and aren't in the position to pay $25,000+++ for one just a few thousand away from this, then this is your car. Please see all the pictures and ask any questions or even come see it. I will be glad to coordinate with any shipping company. I am able to recommend one if you do buy it. I am also selling locally and may end the auction early if it sells here. Again...ASK QUESTIONS! And best of luck. |
