Description of 1975 Jeep CJ |
Jeep CJ .Moving and can't take it with me. I bought it 4 years ago as a plain low mileage original CJ. As anyone knows once you start wrenching on one it becomes an addiction. I'll list the mods I remember. Getting old and the memory isn't so good anymore 🤪. Most everything is 3 years old or newer. 4" Complete Skyjacker suspension lift. No shackles. Flowmaster exhaust. New Webber carb. High output alternator. Heavy duty battery. New exhaust manifold. New steering box. 1" high volume single core aluminum radiator. Seals in axles. New HEI, plugs & cables. New speedometer (needs the gear in the tranny to make it accurate). New interior including seats, belts, rhino lining, shifter knobs and boots and a really nice locking center console from a YJ w/ keys. There is a small burn spot that has been repaired on the driver seat. Frame is excellent Brakes, wheel cylinders and master cylinder The 5 wheels are from a Laredo (stamped on the inside) I paid over $1000 for them. 35" tires with very deep tread. Spare hasn't been on the ground. High lift jack and mounts The lights are vintage KC (need hooked back up) Drivetrain is stock and numbers matching setup. Very low miles. She has between 20k & 25k miles(not exact because of the speedometer) Had less than 20k on it when I bought it. Very nice full top with 2 sets of doors as well as the bikini top. Paint was done in 2017. No rust. I put the body armor on for protection not to cover rust as some do. Tailgate is not welded and opens nicely. Winch is a new Milemarker SEC 12. Works flawlessly. I found the front bumper at a Jeep graveyard. Took it to bare metal primed and painted it. It is EXTREMELY heavy duty. Has 2 shackles. New chrome mirrors Heat works Fire extinguisher Heavy duty floormats An "AAAOOOGAH" horn I have taken good care of it. Never been in mud. Never been hill climbing. I took it to The Big Meat Run in Disney Ok twice just to watch people tear up their stuff. Both times I was told repeatedly that it was the nicest CJ5 there. It is a real head turner. Now the things it could use. It get the wobble so probably could use ball joints. There is a spot just below the windshield that the paint is peeling. Could use a windshield gasket. I think that's about it. Thanks. |
