Description of 1977 Jeep CJ CJ7

Jeep CJ . Condition is Used.

For sale is my 1977 Jeep CJ7 - and 1977 in title only. Everything is new, rebuilt or

replaced by original owner/builder who I bought this from a couple years ago. I have

only put about 2k miles on it, all on paved roads - have not had the chance to hit trails

with it.

Jeep was built 10 years ago - wanted to be able to drive to a trail, wheel all day and

then drive it home. A lot of thought and prep went into this build.

Highlights:

- started with a rust free frame from a 1984 CJ7.

- Tub is fiberglass with reinforcement under rear seat.

- Hood, Fenders, Grill and windshield frame are steel.

- Windshield and rubber gasket 3 years old.

- custom roll bar / cage tied to frame.

- ENGINE: LQ9 from a 2003 Cadillac Escalade. Had 40K on the engine on installation.

would estimate a total of 5k has been added since then.

- At time of installation for engine - all new new gaskets, removed and inspected

bearings and main bearings, all were like new and no wear seen. New water pump,

thermostat, hoses, belt tensioner, idler pulley, sparks plugs and wires, new alternator

and starter as well. Injectors were sent out and rebuilt and flow matched.

- TRANSMISSION: Dodge NV4500 5 speed. Rebuilt with new bearings, seals and

synchros. Output shaft replaced along with the 5th gear upgrade kit.

- Clutch is Centerforce dual friction. Flywheel was a new Sachs, throw out bearing is

new. Hydraulic clutch master and slave cylinder. Pedal pressure is very light. Not tiring

at all.

- Dana 300 xfer case - rebuilt with new bearings and seals. 4:1 low range gear set -

when coupled with low 1st gear, this will crawl along any trail.

- Rear diff is a semi floating Dana 60. New 4.10 gears, new bearings, and seals and a

Lock Right locker. The shafts are Alloy USA 35 spline. Lugs are 5 on 5.5 factory CJ

pattern. Rear cover is reinforced.

- Disc brakes, stainless hose etc.

- Front diff is a Dana 44 from an SJ. Full width to match rear. Front springs are

outboarded with a schackle reversal. New gears, seals and bearings. Allow shafts, HD

knuckles with high steer arms. Warn premium lock outs, new brakes, wheel bearings.

Steering is an AGR steering box - linkage are HD heim joints with HD tube.

- Suspension is spring under 2.5” kit. Rear ubolts are flipped to top of tube. Custom rear

shock hoops with Rancho RSX9000 shocks set on top of axle. Front shocks are same

Ranchos.

- Custom steel bumpers and side rock rails.

- Tires are 35x12.5 BFG KM2 mud Terrains. Wheels are 15x8 American Racing Outlaw

2. Full spare set to match. Custom spare bracket for behind front seats which is

removable and bench swapped in. Also have a spare holder with tow hitch. (see pics).

- LED bar on front, headlights are from a TJ with replacement bulbs. Wiring harness is

Painless Jeep Harness

- Autometer Phantom 2 gauge cluster. Speedo works, Batt/charge, oil pressure and

temp. Fuel doesnt and RPM doesnt.

- New heavy duty battery just installed

- Entire interior is Rhino coated. Hose it out as needed.

This Jeep was built to bash and have fun. All $ and effort went into mechanicals - this is

no shiny restoration to sit at a car show. Though when taken to car shows, it does grab

attention!

Lowlights:

- Fuel gauge does not work (float is in place, just needs adjusted).

- Bought jeep doorless - no striker pins on tub. Would need to add those to have a

latching door. (I bought element tube doors, as well as matching full top frames and

windows, as well as bikini top and windscreen from Bestop. Never use it because it is

garage all the time, but will throw in for buyer).

- No heater - compartment where blower would sit, the computer for the engine sits

there and took priority.

- Paint is spray can green - not shiny - Original owner made a good point - he never had

any issues scratching it up on trails because he bring it home and spray it with the

same paint and looked new again.

- Black wheels have chips in the color - normal wear and tear.

- seats are beat up. Was going to get new ones, but then thought it would look weird

with shiny new seats and an exterior that looked like it was ready to rumble. Front

drivers is adjustable.
