For sale is a my classic 1979 Jeep FSJ Cherokee Chief Wide Track 4x4 with low miles. This classic Jeep has not been abused in any way. You won't see many of these rare beasts out driving around, let alone in this nice of condition. Clean Title. Accompanying this auction will be a color photo catalog showing detailed pics of the Jeeps restoration, all the retained receipts of the parts installed and work done, some extra small Jeep parts, a full sized spare wheel, a full Wiring Diagram, and 2 sets of keys. Only 9,866 miles on Jeep rebuild. Professionally rebuilt AMC 304 V-8 engine, bored 0.040 over with performance Edelbrock intake, 4-bbl carburetor, Dual Exhaust, GM TH400 Transmission, Warn locking hubs, Dana Axles, BORG Warner Quadra Trac. Sorry I don’t know how many miles on body/chassis, but bushings and suspension parts were replaced if needed and all feel good. Drivetrain components are either new or rebuilt. This Jeep was originally a loaded, power equipped, Golden Eagle Edition from Arizona that has been converted to manual controls so it has manual crank windows, 4x4, door locks, back glass, & lighting. It does have Power Steering, and Power Brakes (disc front, drum rear). What that means is nothing to break when you are out in the boonies. Or if it does, it’s easier to repair. This Jeep drives great, the steering is tight and turns very sharply for tight spots, and is very stable due to the wide track front axle. Larger tires could also be mounted to these wider axles without needing to lift. It currently has only a 2 inch block lift in rear only, which is easy to remove. The 4 barrel carburetor has been tuned for better performance, the timing adjusted for higher altitude where I live, and a better fuel regulator and fuel pressure gauge installed for better fuel management. A Class III receiver hitch was mounted, but I haven’t towed with this Jeep, only hauled my bikes around on weekends and driven less than 1000 miles/year since owning it. Also, no rear seat so the back end is spacious and wide open to either camp out or sleep in, or haul gear/stuff. Holes are in metal floor if you want to add seat though. Factory skid plate on fuel tank. Very clean interior. Never been smoked in or had any pets in. I do want to mention a slight ding in the passenger side panel about the size of a pencil eraser that chipped the paint a bit and some rock chips and scratches in the paint. But overall, very minor. There’s some tint on the rear glass that also got scratched due to a window trim retainer that vibrated loose. Can't really see missing tint from the outside at all but wanted to point those out. You can easily tell a lot of love has been given to restoring and maintaining this Jeep into what you see today. It’s definitely a head-turner and gets lots of compliments. This thing is ready to go for you to enjoy as is....or….go crazy with and deck it out for a rad off-road 4x4 or Overlanding rig.
