Description of 1970 Jeep Commando |
***PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: the Jeep up for sale is a 1976 EBRO Spanish built version of the Jeepster Commando (1966-1971) and is located near Barcelona (Spain). Title of the ad reads Jeep Jeepster 1970 as the real Ebro option was missing in the Ebay selecting categories*** I am the legal owner of the car and will provide the buyer with the required documents to prove it. This Ebro built Jeepster, was first registered in 1976. I bought it many years ago, while still running, with the intention of restoring it. But life had different priorities and the project stalled. The original diesel Perkins 4-108 engine seized and I replaced it with a low miles equal engine which needs bleeding the injectors and/or cleaning the fuel lines to run again. Currently the main sheet components have been re-assembled (wings, hood, grill...) but will need going through them and replace some missing bolts. This is a sound car, with virtually no corrosion apart from the one depicted on the windshield frame (common issue with that car). Not shown, but also present is corrosion on the roof draining channels, which wer, ,repaired,, with bondo by the previous owner. I couldn't find any perforating rust spot apart from the two mentioned above. Tires are almost new, having run less than 500 miles since replaced, the car has remained inside a garage for the last twelve years (that old are the tires too). Clutch, was relatively new when the car was stored. Interior is in poor condition and will required to be re-upholstered along with a new headliner. The 4 speed + reverse manual shift and transfer case were working properly when the car was stored. If you buy the car with the intention of replacing the engine for gasoline one, bear in mind that the Perkins 4-108 is a very robust engine, that is being widely used as inboard motor for small vintage pleasure boats. There is definitively a market for them in the States and you could easily recover a substantial part of your Jeep acquisition costs by simply reselling the Perkins. The car is located in Spain, some 50 miles south from Barcelona's Port and almost at the same distance north from Tarragona's one. I have experience exporting goods worldwide and will do my best to assist the buyer with the export procedures. Ideally the car (being rolling but not running) should be placed inside a 20' Container and being shipped to your chosen port of destination. No Reserve, I am motivated to sell the car Asap as I need the garage space for another project. Ask all your questions ahead of bidding, I will be glad to answer all of them honestly and to the best of my knowledge.
CAR IS SOLD AS-IS WHERE-IS WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED. NO RETURNS. $300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT DUE IMMEDIATELY AFTER SALE THROUGH PAYPAL. ALL SHIPPING COSTS AND ARRANGEMENTS ARE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF BUYER. |
