Description of 1990 Jeep Wrangler |
1990 Jeep Wrangler. This was our Dad's Jeep. Since he passed almost 20 years ago it's remained an unregistered "club car", gently plying but a few miles of private roads in NE Pennsylvania... Since retiring we finally had a chance to clean it up - including a set of new tires - and were hoping a simple tune-up would get it ready for another 20 years of service. Unfortunately a detailed once-over revealed the following: - engine starts (willingly when warm, after several cranks when cold) and runs, but won't idle (stalls) due to a vacuum leak somewhere in theintake manifold- a bit of gear oil appears to be leaking through the right rear wheel - we hear this is a known axle issue on some early Wranglers?- front left caliper occasionally binds and overheats All repairable (at moderate cost), but we no longer have the time or energy to do this work... The body appears to be in very good condition, with no visible rust or dings (see photos, noting 3 holes in the driver's pillar which supported a broken manual spotlight that was removed). 4 new General Grabber A/T tires (driven <200 miles) VIN (2J4FY29T0LJ515319) - Although this *is* this Jeep's VIN (see photo), we can't get a valid lookup on eBay, KBB, Edmunds, etc - not sure why (age?) Thanks for looking! |
