Description of 1978 Jeep CJ |
| Completely original as born in 1978. Tires are new unused (took years to find) and in perfect condition. There is absolutely no rust anywhere as it was garage kept and never driven through any mud. Everything works perfectly. The soft top is Levi's tan to match the original seats and is in new condition. All brakes and rubber brake lines have been replaced. Original Levi's seats are in excellent original condition. The paint on the floors and body is all original as well as the graphics. The dash pad is like new. Rare auto trans (1 or 5 jeeps were automatics) and quadratrac. Engine is the original untouched AMC 304 with all original equipment including AMC parts plug wires etc. This is not a restoration or fitted or replaced with reproduction parts. I am the second owner and the previous owner ordered this vehicle based on the original Jeep add that appeared in Life magazine in 1978 (add included in documentation.) The vehicle runsshifts and drives perfectly. No oil leaks anywhere.Additional images are available. |
