Description of 1950 Chevrolet Bel Air/150/210 Coupe

This 1950 Chevrolet coupe is one of those affordable hot rods that's enjoyed the attention of a caring owner so everything works. It's not a show piece, ut if you want a cool old car you can get in and drive cross-country, his is an excellent choice, specially with upgrades like A/C and a powerful stereo. There are still great cars for not a lot of cash out there! This whole car looks to have been dipped in electric blue paint, ut the work underneath is well done. Painting the trim body color announces that this is a street rod, ut none of the classic lines have been altered and the 1950 Chevrolets in particular were great blends of '40s curves and '50s streamlining. Good sheetmetal lines up well and fits together properly, o the car stands up at shows and local cruise nights. It shows some signs of use, f course, ecause it really was built to drive and have fun and you shouldn't hold that against it. There are a few remaining bright pieces of trim like the peep mirror and antenna, ut the rest is painted to match the body, hich probably required a fair amount of work all by itself. Nothing was shaved or deleted, o it retains its classic look, nd with blue dot taillights out back, here's a definite retro vibe going through the whole design. The bright tan interior uses bucket seats and a console to give the vintage Chevy a more modern feel, nd it's an easy place to spend some time. The seats themselves are obviously from a late-model and are as comfortable as you'd expect. The console was custom made and includes the controls for the Vintage Air A/C system, hifter, nd diamond-plate trim which gives it an industrial-strength look. The big, ound central gauge still has the original speedometer inside, ith Auto Meter auxiliary gauges arrayed across the center of the dash. A tilt steering column and a billet wheel that has a mildly retro look seems appropriate, nd things like the carpets and door panels are nicely tailored for the vintage coupe. A JVC stereo head unit powers speakers throughout the car plus a Rockford Fosgate subwoofers in a custom diamond plate enclosure in the trunk. Tinted windows all around give it a sleeker look despite being completely stock and the trunk is still big enough to use on road trips. Nice!A 350 cubic inch Chevy V8 is a neat fit in the 1950 engine bay, hich originally held a Stovebolt Six. More diamond plate, ome polished aluminum and a very high level of functionality highlight the engine compartment, hich is a nice blend of show car dressiness and go-down-the-road serviceability. A Camaro front clip adds an independent suspension, ower front disc brakes, nd power steering, hile a TH350 3-speed automatic powers a 10-bolt rear on leaf springs. Long-tube headers and a custom dual exhaust system give it a proper hot rod sound that doesn't get annoying on long cruises and it's a very strong runner that's downright quick on the street. Classic Centerline aluminum wheels with 215/65/15 Pirelli radials add bright contrast to the otherwise monochromatic bodywork.Affordable never looked this good, nd the '50s shape is sure to draw more than its fair share of admirers.
