Description of 1980 Lamborghini Countach |
For sale is a Lamborghini Countach 5000s Prova replica built on a stretched Pontic Fiero. The car's dimensions are excellent and is one the best and most accurate replicas out there. Even the interior is well designed. The car is in good shape, runs and sounds good does not overheat, everything works: AC, stereo, wireless key fob, lights, trunk, door latches. Overall the car could use a little TLC here and there if you would want to make it perfect. The engine is a 1987-1995 gm 350, with a gaited 5-speed transmission. Famous auto YouTuber Doug DeMuro wrote an article about this exact car. Here is what he had to say: "Here'sa surprisingly nice Lamborghini Countach replicaOpens a New Window.. It's based on a 1984 Pontiac Fiero -- but unlike most Fiero-based Countach replicas, this one is a shockingly faithful copy, and I suspect most casualLamborghiniOpens a New Window.fans wouldn't be able to tell it apart from the real thing from the outside. And now it's listed for sale on Autotrader. According to the listing, this Countach replica started life as an '84 Fiero, but the chassis was stretched in order to more closely match the lines of the Countach -- an important consideration, since the wheelbases of the two cars don't match up. With the stretch, however, it's perfect -- and the resulting replica is shockingly accurate. I've driven a Countach and been around many at car shows, and even I would have a hard time telling apart this one from a real one. That's especially true because the converter of this car into a Countach replica even went as far as replicating the interior. Usually, kit car makers stop at the exterior, since the interior is an expensive conversion and largely unnecessary -- but this car has the right center tunnel, the right seats, the right gated shifter and even the right square dashboard. It's an impressive conversion on every level. As for the engine, the Pontiac motor is gone, replaced instead with a GM 350 cu in. V8 that's mated to a 5-speed manual transmission."
