A very nice all original "patina" 1966 Lamborghini 2R Tractor. This tractor was imported directly from Italy and now offered for sale with original title documents (tags) as well as all importation docs. Runs and drives as it should. This is a NO RESERVE AUCTION. Do not bid unless you have adequate feedback on your account and intend to follow through with a purchase. Happy to arrange for inspection or video review of the tractor.
Well known for the production of highly exotic sports cars, Lamborghini’s roots are in manufacturing agricultural equipment. The postwar Italian economy was on an upswing, and particular interest was given to building up the agricultural segment of the country. Ferruccio Lamborghini saw the opportunity and seized it, producing the first tractor almost entirely out of surplus military machinery. It sold, orders trickled in, and Ferruccio founded Lamborghini Trattori in 1948, continuing to manufacture tractors largely using surplus military machinery. Over the years, the company’s reputation grew, and Lamborghini Trattori steadily improved in both quality and capabilities. One of the homeruns for Lamborghini Trattori was Ferruccio’s patented fuel atomizer, which allowed his tractors to be started using gasoline but then switched to less costly diesel fuel to run. This 1966 Lamborghini Trattori 2R is in remarkably original condition; showing a beautiful patina throughout, it retains its original Bologna, Italy, license plate. The 3-cylinder diesel engine is the matching-numbers unit. While the Trattori division doesn’t quite offer the cache of the sports cars, Lamborghini tractors have a well-established reputation of being some of the finest tractors produced. They also have long been unique collectibles perfect for spicing up any collection or property. Imagine placing this 2R as unique décor somewhere on your property, or maybe outside the office. With its rugged good looks, it would be ideal in so many ways, including as a potential restoration project. Then again, all the character this tractor has earned over the years is fascinating fodder for the imagination; where did it work, how did it come to the United States—questions like that could roll on for weeks on end. That’s all part of the fun in having a unique machine like this Lamborghini 2R.
