1973 Lamborghini Espada Series III This 1973 Lamborghini Espada has been the pride and joy of a local collector who has owned this car for the last 36 years. During that time he has rarely used it. but surprisingly has kept the maintenance up to date. ensuring it was ready for a Sunday drive on any given weekend. He is the second owner. purchasing it and importing it to the US from the original owner in Milan Italy in 1979. The vehicle is being offered at No Reserve. with an opening bid well below Hagerty Vehicle Values for a Condition 4 Vehicle. This is to ensure a single eBay listing. allowing bidders to determine the actual value of this rare and exotic beauty. Exterior It is hard to find well preserved example of these vehicles. and this one is a crowd favorite with only 1. 17 models produced. It is rare to find a nice rust free example of an early Lamborghini Espada. and rarer still to know that this one has spent most of its existence in the rust free Nevada basin. The original Factory Grey was changed to a Lamborghini Yellow in the mid 1980’s and the paint has held up extremely well for being nearly 30 years old. but is not without its flaws. Most notable is a crack in the paint on the hood and a few paint chips on the hood and rear hatch (see pics). This is often considered the most desirable of the Espada models. receiving all the updates for the Series III including the Aluminum Dash. Five Lug Alloy Wheels. updated Grill and Tail Lights. all while retaining the small Euro bumpers before the larger impact bumper requirement of 1975. Interior The original leather interior looks great with no splitting in the seats and only a light patina on the bolsters. The front door panels are in fine shape. though the rear door panels have suffered some shrinkage and splitting (see pics). All instrumentation is fully functional with the exception of the Volt & AMP Meter. Additionally. there is no radio as the aftermarket stereo faceplate has gone missing. The Air Conditioning blows cold and the rheostat has been replaced with an On/Off Switch. a common addition for instant on Max A/C in Las Vegas. The owner states that the speedometer was replaced during importation and currently shows the mileage of stateside use at only 2. 35 miles. this coupled with the approximate 12. 00 kilometers on the original speedometer prior to importation makes this potentially one of the lowest mileage examples in the country. However. there were several years in the 90’s where service records indicate the same mileage. so the true mileage is not entirely known. Nevertheless. during the years the mileage was documented from 2003 to current. only 1. 51 miles have been driven.
