Description of 1973 Lancia Fulvia 1,3 S

You are looking at an absolutely beautiful 1973 Lancia Fulvia 1,3 S that is in exceptional condition cosmetically and is mechanically perfect. The engine runs strong and cool and the five speed transmission shifts like new. The car is extremely solid and rust free having spent most of its life in Rome, followed by brief stints in California and Texas. The overall condition might be described as an extremely high quality driver which would also be very well received and admired at any car show. This really is an extremely attractive car, as the photographs hopefully demonstrate.
I bought this car a little over a year ago as a gift for my wife but after decades of driving automatic cars, she found that she really doesn't enjoy driving manual transmissions. The car is finished in its original factory color of Rosso Amore with a two tone tan and black interior. I also added a rather nice custom black/red Cocomat and an absolutely beautiful vintage Formel woodrim steering wheel. The car originally came to me with a Fulvia Monte Carlo steering wheel, which is included in the sale. I also had an Italian themed, tailored, satin indoor car cover made for the Fulvia (see photograph) which is also included in the sale.
I purchased the car on Bring a Trailer from Adan Figueroa of LA Lancia. Adan imported the Fulvia from Italy where it had been maintained for many years by legendary Lancia mechanic Ezio Feliciani in Rome. (Google Ezio and you will find some awesome videos of him on You Tube). The full history of the car is known to us, and the listing photographs include a picture of the car being driven past the Colosseum in Rome in 2013.
Ownership history as told by the third owner in Rome.
  • The first owner (born 1940) was a regional politician for “Christian Democratic Party”. He owned the car from new until 2004.
  • The second owner was a mechanical engineer (born 1979), working at a shipyard in Taranto (southern Italy). He bought the Fulvia in 2004.The engineer told me he used to drive the Fulvia almost daily to reach the university during the last year before graduation. Also he took care of car's maintenance with great attention.
  • I am the third owner (born 1954) and I bought the Fulvia from the engineer in 2011.The Fulvia's periodical and occasional maintenance during the six years I owned the car was provided by Enzo Feliciani (born 1933), a well know Lancia “historical” mechanic in Rome, who established his activity in 1946.

  • The vehicle was then sold to Adan Figueroa in 2017

Prior to shipping the car to me after buying it on Bring a Trailer, I had Adan perform several tasks to improve the car even further. All work was either performed by Adan himself or the local independent Ferrari shop that Adan uses for mechanical and paint work. The work performed included the repainting of the left rear quarter panel which had some crazing in the older repaint, he installed a new wooden dash (the original is included), a lightweight flywheel and new clutch and pilot bushing, a new rear crank seal, new de Carbon shocks and new rear lamp lenses.
After importing the car from Italy in early 2017, and before listing it for sale, Adan had also rebuilt the brake calipers, replaced the brake master cylinder, brake pads, fuel tank, front grille, headlamp chrome rings, distributor cap and plug wires, new front bumper and rubber insert, new stereo concealed beneath the dash, re-trimmed the front and rear seats (which are superb), refinished the headliner and performed a full service.
As you can imagine, this car needs absolutely nothing and is ready to be enjoyed. I will perform an oil and filter service and a full detail prior to shipping the car to the new owner. It is difficult to imagine that there are too many Fulvias out there in better condition or with better provenance than this particular car. Again, I would describe the condition of this car as a very high quality driver. It is not a concours car, but it is truly in exceptional condition.
I have over $35,000 invested in this beautiful Lancia, hence the 'Buy it Now' at that figure, although my reserve is substantially less.
Note to Texas buyers: I have purchased the Texas license plate "FULVIA" which I am happy to pass on to the new owner free of charge if the car is to be titled in Texas.

This car is being sold "as is where is" with no warranty of any kind being offered by the seller. Clear, unencumbered California title conveys to the new owner.
Thank you for your interest.
