Description of 1980 Land Rover Defender 1989 Land Rover Defender 90 CSW LHD

This left hand drive Landrover 90 CSW (county station wagon) has been recently and legally imported to the US and is now in Ohio with a clean Ohio title. All customs paperwork will be given to the buyer along with the Ohio title. There was a customs intensive exam done at great cost to me which it cleared with no problem. this exam is now done on all imports. Its a 1989 LHD Defender 90 station wagon in very original condition. It has been imported from Eastern Europe and it lived most of its life in Italy so it doesn't have the rust issues that most UK vehicles have. The overall condition of the Rover is very clean for its age. the paint looks mostly original and still shines well. the only repair spot (cosmetic) on the exterior is the passenger side wing (skin). It was a cosmetic repair only as there is no evidence of distortion on the inner wing and all is straight and undamaged beyond the outer skin. This damage has been repaired and the wing skin looks good but not perfect. the contour of the repaired wing doesn't exactly match the opposite side. Unless your'e looking closely you can't tell but I have to mention it. A new outer wing skin costs about 70 pounds online from the UK. replace and it will be perfect. The passenger side footwell has had some repair done with new metal. a good solid repair with thick metal though it doesn't look exactly original. something to be expected with a repair patch. Both driver and passenger doors are in great shape. no rust damage. some very minor surface rust was cleaned off and repainted. The rear door bottom did have a few holes (about a nickel size each. total of 4) which were cleaned with a grinder and filled with fiberglass filler and repainted. It should last a while though the proper door bottom repair piece is only 15 pounds online from the UK if you are willing to weld it in place. I only found one spot on the rear crossmember extension that has evidence of welding (its solid but you can see the patch). aside from that the frame is very clean and original. It runs and drives fine. shifts through all gears well. The Pirelli tires mounted on original steel rims look to have lots of life left on them. I have a few small parts on order for this vehicle from the UK which will be installed before the auction is over. They are new door card clips to secure the door cards properly (pretty much all defenders have these break and the door card doesn't sit flush with the frame anymore). a new gear shifter knob. new pedal covers. new lock button housings. a new passenger side door interior handle. new front and rear winsdshield washer nozzles. This defender does have wiring going to the rear door glass for a defogger but it seems the glass has been replaced at some point with non heated glass. The heated glass is about 70 pounds from the UK if you wish to have a rear defogger. The defender is in overall great condition for a 25 year old vehicle. very original with very little if any rust(rear door bottom which has been dealt with for now). It does smoke a little on start up but clears up as the engine reaches temperature. all old diesels are like this. I will add more pictures in a few days and the defender will be sold with a clear Ohio title transferable to any state. Reserve at less than 15k is very reasonable for a LHD defender 90. unlike most ebay sellers who think its ok to charge 2-3 times the value of a vehicle just because its a rare vehicle in the US. The pictures I am including for now are mostly from when it was in Europe though a couple are after importation. I will add more in a couple pf days. I have described the vehicle honestly and as accurately as possible. its a 25 year old vehicle and is not perfect and is sold as is. with no warranties expressed or implied. The reason for my less than perfect feedback is that I once made the mistake of selling a car I had listed on ebay before the auction ended. outside of ebay. I offered the buyer compensation for the error but he wouldn't accept and left me negative feedback. I have been on ebay for over ten years. and I just want to let all would be scammers know to not bother. it won't work on me. Good luck bidding. It looks dirty in the last few pictures because those were taken when it first arrived in the US. after a month in a container and warehouse inspections. I am currently cleaning it up and it should look much cleaner after I've washed and waxed it. On Dec-16-14 at 17:56:18 PST. seller added the following information:Note: Ebay won't let me add more pictures or even replace any pictures. If anyone wants specific pictures or pictures of import customs paperwork (form 7501 entry) or title. please email and I can send them.
