The vehicle was completely disassembled and then aluminum (birmabright) body panel was stripped, epoxy primered, and painted Land Rover Poppy Red prior to assembly. The original rust free frame was steam cleaned, sanded and then treated with POR 15 rustproof paint with a POR chassis coat top coat. Assembly was accomplished with all stainless steel bolts, utilizing rubber or nylon grommets between panels to eliminate future galvanic corrosion. All major components have been either replaced or restored utilizing genuine Land Rover parts whenever possible. This truck is fitted with many desirable options such as a Fairy overdrive, Kodiak heater, in-cab hand throttle, optional smiths oil pressure/water temp gauge, Warn free wheel hubs, deluxe bonnet, rear jump seats (seats 7 in a pinch), banjo steering wheel, interior cab and bonnet spare tire mounts, and both canvas soft top as well as a tropical hard top with sliding windows and rear door. All Work done on this Land Rover was in 2010, and includes an entirely brake systems from master cylinder and hard lines to brake shoes. Overdrive allows highways speeds of 65mph with more relaxed cruising at around 55mph. The parabolic springs (3 leaf rear, 3 leaft front) and bilstein shocks provide a relatively smooth ride and allow for fantastic off-road articulation. Everything works as it should and is ready to go anywhere. It is not a trailer queen. This truck should be driven and enjoyed. You could not replicate this vehicle for under $25k. This is your opportunity to own a very nice driveable example of the truck that started the SUV craze. I have tried to explain the exact condition of the vehicle, and will be happy to answer any questions you may have. The truck has always been parked inside my garage. The few not working items: The arm that stops the passenger door from swinging fully is detached. Nothing bad. Just needs to be fixed. One of the levers for the front vent broke but is still operable. The only part NOT restored is the tropical hard top and rear door. This was purchased after restoration. A canvas soft top is included with all the hardware.
