Description of 1981 Land Rover Defender 110 90 130 Bespoke Turbo Raptor Style |
1981 Land Rover Defender 110 7 Passenger Bespoke Custom Build Engine; 2.4 Turbo Diesel Trans; MT82 6-Speed Frame; Galvanized Interior; Puma/LR3 Style It sits on a Galvanized chassis and never going to rust a completed ready to go ground up build - and very well traveled so nothing to fix - ready to go. This 110 sports the latest interior and and body panels. About 20k Miles since built ( 1.5 year build ) and runs excellent. The interior shows very slight wear in the foot-well area but nothing too bad just normal wear. The entire truck is RUST FREE the doors are new and have all the correct rubbers that keep the cabin nice tight and dry. Build consists of a ground up assembly the start began with a stock 110 truck, adjacent to it a galvanized frame. After the setup the frame was fitted with the axles attached to the a updated lift kit made by Terra Firma along with the lift kit all new poly bushing and drop arms for the lift. Attached to the axles are a 5 piece set of OEM Land Rover Boost rims with newer M/TR Goodyear 285 85 R16 tires. The Body is original and in excellent condition and will show excellent upon inspection ( sits on updated poly body mounts). The Bulkhead is a take off from a modern version 110 that is accompanied by the modern LR3/Puma style dash board. Following the bulkhead the running gear engine trans and related mechanical were updated with all new silicone hosed and cables the original factory wiring loom was used to bring the truck alive. Together with the motor and dash all the sensors, module lights etc speak to ECU and the entire truck is in sync from the dash clock down to the emergency brake indicator light. The cabin is dry and seats show little to no wear the 6 speed transmission a MT-82 shifts excellent and the clutch is believed to be in excellent condition (recently took a 1800 mile journey with out any hiccups). Inside the armrest and under the passenger seat a Webasto water pre-heater used to pre-heat the diesel motor water (antifreeze) in extreme conditions - a modern version of a block warmer - it can be put on a 7 day timer (control unit located in the armrest where a cd player would go) or used when needed (i have only needed to used in it below -3 weather when at altitudes over 9k ft). Under the drivers seat are two new Interstate batteries with a smart charge system and dual switches for cut off to the winch and other aux items but allowing power to the ECU and motor, great for running the LED lights or for night fishing. As for the convenience factors it has everything you will need to stay comfortable.. the key-fob immobilizer can turn on the cabin lights at the push of a button for nighttime safety. The center dash console houses most of the switches and the all important climate control - the A/C and Heat both operate above standard - the heat is very hot and I usually do not run it on the hottest setting - the air conditioning is ice cold and cools the cabin down very quickly - the A/C was recently flushed due to a leak in one of the hard lines which was replaced a few months back and recharged. The center dash console also houses a pretty great navigation system that has extensions for all kinds of media and related digital gadgetry - I intended on a backup camera integration but have not been able to get to it yet. The auxiliary lighting and heated accessories are also located on the center dash console. While in the shop last for regular maintenance the fluids were all flushed and changed w OEM filters replaced (except for the air cleaner which is using a K&N oiled filter). The engine bay is near spotless and always kept as clean as the cabin - this truck has not seen much dirt or off-road use contrary to its capabilities. The exterior is just as nice, the NAS Exterior Roll Cage, Integrated Roof Rack, ARB Style Bumper, Rear Ladder, OEM Step bumper / tow receiver and Spare Tire Carrier are all in excellent shape and pretty straight forward. The front bumper has a remote controlled winch which was never used but works - so its new and ready to go with the modern style synthetic recovery line. The KC LED light bars and Hella Aux Lights are all in great shape and wired to the center console switches - both serve different purposes and were recently put to the test in blizzard conditions - was lucky to have them set up so nicely. Most notably is the modern style doors, hood and full cabin interior. The doors are all excellent and painted the same time as the rest of the truck w a metallic black that shows like new. The interior is all new to the vehicle as take off parts from a modern 110 the soundproofing is all in great shape and the seats are all excellent w side folding bucket seats in the cargo area. The doors have all their proper rubbers in place and close tightly - they are manual winding windows and go up and down like new. All the panels are OEM Land Rover and fit like they rolled off the factory line. There are no aftermarket parts at all on the interior except the LED light-bulbs in the cabin convenience lights. The middle row seats are all functional folding down etc and the flooring is covered w a OEM 2 piece floor mats - the same is said about the cargo area.
