Description of 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 -- |
The 1993 Land Rover Defender 110 offered for sale here is #165 of just 500 original Defender 110s imported into the US in 1993. Originally delivered to Newport Beach CA this vehicle has spent the majority of its life in its current ownership in San Diego and has recently undergone quite a few significant upgrades and additions. This Defender now bears a custom suspension with Bilstein 5100 reservoir shocks and an ARB locking rear differential on the Salisbury rear axle to provide additional traction. The entire vehicle rests on brand new BF Goodrich Mud-Terrain 255/85 R16 tires and NATO steel Wolf wheels for an aggressive look and reliable performance. It has been given a 10K Husky winch on the Mantec front bumper/brush bar and comes with a rope and two different chains for towing and features a raised Mantec air intake to minimize dust and water egress. This Defender has also been upgraded to feature a dual marine Optima Battery system with a marine isolation switch a high capacity alternator and a Banks ignition system. This system controlled by a custom switch panel on the interior center console also accesses additional lighting features including under-frame lighting as well as the Extreme on-board air compressor for reinflation. On the back of the vehicle a Mantec spare tire carrier has been installed to help keep weight off the door and carry a larger spare tire. The rear is also lined with an LED panel of lights that is wired to the reverse switch for additional backup help. This LED panel can also be independently turned on and used externally. On the interior this vehicle has been given new Exmoor high-back front seats and custom rear bucket seats in the middle row. Resting between the middle seats is a 35 quart Engel refrigerator/freezer. The car is wired with a Pioneer sound system and retrofitted with a Pioneer CD player/radio as well as a satellite radio all protected by a dust-proof marine cover. It also bears an Icom 208 2M/440Mhz radio CB and a Garmin 276c GPS with a rooftop antenna. Additional upgrades include a full compliment of Hella off-road lights RAM mounts between the front seats to hold phones and tablets and a brand new insulated headliner to help keep the cab cool. This particular Defender 110 comes extremely well-documented. Included in the sale are three the original Land Rover tool kit service manuals parts catalogues and sales brochures as well as a bin of spare parts. Additionally there are two full binders of information one containing period advertisements of the Defenders and the first owner's service records and one containing extensive receipts and records for the current owner's upgrades to the car. Though there were many Defenders built in the UK and even more imported to the US more recently for rebuilding this original US-Spec Defender 110 is an absolute rarity on the market today and an invaluable collectible to the right buyer. With only 500 originally imported and even fewer still around today in their original states this Defender is a must-have for any serious collectors.
