Up for sale is a 1970 Land Rover Series 2a, 88" wheelbase model. It's lefthand drive with a manual transmission, 4 cyl engine with a Weber carb, full time 4WD, but has the optional WARN freewheeling hubs. It also has a Fairey overdrive. I have 3 tops for it: the hardtop, a full length soft top, and a bimini top. I've installed parabolic springs with poly bushings and Old Man Emu shocks, converted to a Pertronix ignition, installed an alternator (in lieu of the generator), and a spin on oil filter adpater (in lieu of the canister). I recently replaced the door tops with aluminum units from Rocky Mountain Products, but will include the original door tops as well. Battery is new within the last year. The following have also been replaced within the past 5 years: engine and transmission mounts, brake master cylinder, brake wheel cylinders, clutch master and slave cylinder, spark plugs, plug wires, fuel filter, starter solenoid, and thermostat.
This is a good driver, but not a show car without some work. Electrics are operable (except for the windshield wipers). There is some rust on the rear of the frame, the outer bulkhead below the door hinge, and a little on the driver side vent surround. The odometer works properly, however, the speedometer jumps around and mostly reads high.
This is a fun rig to drive, both on and offroad. Guaranteed to get looks wherever you go. Drive it as is, or restore to your desired level. Good luck!
