Description of 1980 Land Rover Defender |
For sale is my 1991 Land Rover Defender 200 tdi diesel. Factory engine and the first year of able to be exported with the 200tdii. This has been my personal car when I was living in London. I relocated to LA and brought the car with me, I'm consolidating projects and need to focus on a 4 door Defender LS3 rebuild so unfortunately the truck is up for sale. All maintenance is up to date and recently received a complete fluid change through the entire running gear. The brakes, suspension, interior and exterior have all been refurbished in the last 5k miles. The truck has cleared customs and registered legally by a full licensed broker. All paperwork, a nice hefty package of receipts, and rebuild documentation will be included with the sale. California registration and SMOG exemption which was difficult but successful, and road legal in California! Original first year of the famous 200tdi! 30+ mpg, plenty of power and torque, reliability to drive everyday and cruises great with plenty of power on the highway. Fully refurbished in southwest London, all the powertrain and chassis has been rebuilt by a Land Rover specialist. I looked for a while before selecting the truck. The previous owner before me owned the car for 15+ years and was a technician for Land Rover. Frame off restoration complete including both front doors and rear crossmember. The style of the truck is modeled after the 60th anniversary SVX edition. Powertrain: original 200 tdi intercooled Turbo Deisel, runs and drives excellent. Boost pin and free flowing exhaust. The best engine available in these trucks, and is more efficient and arguably outperforms the V8. Starts up every time first crank no issues whatsoever. Suspension & Brakes: the chassis has been professional striped and rust protected. The suspension has been prepped for off road use if needed. 2" terrafirma shocks and springs. Front plate skid guard. HD cranked trailing arms, dislocation cones, new bushings etc. Brakes front and rear are all new and the front calipers on have been upgraded. Tires are 235 75 R16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R English Spec. Wheels are OEM Land Rover SVX diamond cut and clear coated. Interior: The interior has all been replaced and brought up to modern standards. Blue tooth alpine head unit and speakers. Exmoor black seats with white stich interior. Alacantara headliner. Gauges refurbished with red needles and LED lights Exterior: Paint is original Land Rover color Beluga Black, repainted in Fall 2016. I've replaced the door hinges with the later TD5 design that the better design and are more reliable. Most hardware throughout the truck had either been replaced or upgraded with stainless bolts. KBX appearance package including grill, headlight surround, intake etc. Where possible, OEM Land Rover parts were used including NAS Rear bumper and Fender checker plate: silver anodize. The lights have all been replaced with LEDs and and headlights are HID upgraded. This is a great reliable truck for weekend beach trips, off roading, city cruises or daily driver.
