Description of 1989 Land Rover Range Rover |
If you are looking at this saying, what does this crazy guy think he can get for a 1989 Range Rover, it is obvious you don't understand what you are viewing. This truck is for classic Range Rover lovers that want a modernized reliable version of the truck with the classic look. It is for lack of a better term a resto mod but more from an upgrade standpoint as all the parts used are OEM Range Rover certified. This rare opportunity to own a one of a kind completely redone 1989 Range rover Country classic. You can call it a resto mod or a ground up restoration, not an inch on this truck was untouched. We started with a 1989 Range Rover Classic with no rust and 120,000 miles on the original engine. Pictures of the white Rover this started off as are in the listing, the exterior is 100% bullet lined with the Range Rover Beluga Black, glossy finish, looks beautiful and beyond durable. The wheels are also coated in the same bullet coating, brand new Yokahama tires and powder coated RED calipers that really set off the look. The brakes were upgraded to larger rotors giving the car even better stopping power. No dents, cracks or blemishes at all. A 40 x 40 -inch moon roof was also added, purchased from Legacy, www.slidingragtops.com out of California. Range Rover OEM running boards, new front and rear Halogen lights and brand new housings. Mounted Hella lights, every part of the outside redone. Moving to the engine, we replaced the existing motor and transmission with and upgraded BRAND NEW set from Rovers North, it now has a perfectly balanced 4.6L motor and the transmission that accompanies it, see video and link to Rovers north, this alone is over $12,000 in just parts. www.roverparts.com/resources/videos/replacement-long-block-engines/Bye Bye 3.9 liter DOG. Transmission is ZF Automatic, also from www.roverparts.com Atlantic British LTD.The rest of the engine compartment was also completely restored, alternator, battery, wiring, radiator, COMPLETE AC restoration, we removed the crappy paper AC inserts and did it right. Underneath is a complete new suspension, Old man emu two inch lift kit, shocks, new bushings, fittings, and one of three stabilizers available in the US, stops the Rover sway which comes at round 50 miles an hour. Speedometer cable upgrade so it does not "bounce" like older rovers normally do. New bearings, tie rods and fittings. Moving to the interior, Have you ever seen a 1989 all black Range Rover? This again should be one of a kind, Windows are professionally tinted, all power locks and windows restored to new condition, starting from the dash, it is wrapped in black leather, the entire inside of the car is black, all panels were removed and restored, all molding replaced, brand new carpeting, front and rear seats taken down to the core and restored, then recovered in black leather. The only thing not black in this car is the wood molding on the doors, which is also brand new and custom done to match the truck. New state of the art stereo and subwoofer added, all new JBL speakers and amplifier, USB, Blue tooth, and back up camera, looks great, drives great and sounds great. Push button auto start, and converted cigarette lighter to USB port. The truck has been driven less than 500 test miles since the restoration and is in tip top shape. These cars are harder and harder to find, making parts more and more scarce and prices through the roof. There are not many crappy 89 Rovers around and I am certain there is not another like this one, I am a "car guy" and enjoy the restoration process, I have two 1995 Rovers I am working on the same restoration and hope to find the right person that understands what they are getting, All the work was done by GARR motorsports in Marietta, with over 30 years of great work behind them. Invoices are available. Please email me any questions. The truck is listed locally and subject to sale without notice.
