For sale by auction is this 1984 Landrover 90. I just brought this into the US after buying it from an ebayer 12 months ago. The vehicle just arrived to me. no joke about a month ago due to shipping issues on the seller's end. But in the last 12 months and now. guess what. kid came along. So this project vehicle has to go now. darn kids!Per EXACT LISTING OF WHEN I BOUGHT IT. NOTHING HAS CHANGEDIt is obviously now 29 years old. so don't expect AC :) but it has the much better 2. 5 turbo diesel engine in which is coupled to a five speed manual gearbox. It has covered 201. 00 miles and has been regularly maintained. It is of a military spec with the extended bumpers and the reinforced roof. There are 2 seats in the front with a cubby box in the middle and there are also 2 x bench seats in the rear which means another 4 people can be carried in the rear. The paintjob has been done by hand and is not the best finish in the world but at the end of the day its a Landrover. There has been a good nudge bar fitted and also a good set of spotlights which all look very good indeed. Currently the the Landrover is at an European auto specialist getting a once over since I haven't been able to touch it for 3 months. It starts and drives and the motor runs nicely with there being no nasty noises etc. The 5 speed manual gearbox is all good and all gears change as they ought to with no problems at all. The clutch. brakes and steering all operate as they ought to. Like I said. this is a 29 year old UK vehicle so this is going to be a project/resto vehicle. If you put the time and money in. you can easily make this a $40k plus Rover. It has rust of course but it still drives and starts up. etc but this vehicle will make a great base for someone to work from and on. It is a great winter beater to run around in but IT IS AN AWESOME project vehicle if you are into these vehicles. they are rare but workhorses. Parts are available with several large US Rover parts places. It gets easily 30mpg as it has the much better 2. 5 turbo diesel engine which are more reliable than the 2. 25 diesels and provides much more power so better on the Freeway. There is no reserve so someone will get a bargain!!!PLEASE NOTE. evidently the last buyer on ebay did not read. This has a UK title and NOT been titled yet in the US. Unlike the last "buyer" do not win the auction and then find out you don't want to do what is needed to title in the US. Rovers North . comEuropean Auto company in my area has spent 5 hours looking over the entire vehicle (with 40 years working on Euro cars and Rovers) and created a list of the things that they would do to it. They did confirm that the 2. 5 turbo diesel was an aftermarket motor put in and not the original. which they said was a great advantage on this vehicle and a great deal for a buyer who want to fix this up. I am going to have to put a battery in this thing as the one that came with it is dying so I will do it before selling. They recommend using a Diesel Deep Cycle battery with a good amount of cold cranking amps. CARS 25 OR MORE YEARS OLDFederal rules allow any car on U. S. roads 25+ years old to be registered as a “classic”. As such. they are no longer required to meet emissions. crash. or safety standards applied by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and Department of Transportation (DOT) in effect the year they were built. This rule benefits those looking to import 25+ year old cars from any other country as well. Strictly because of age. any car being imported wouldn’t need to be modified to any standards. as long as headlights work and the vehicle is demonstrated to be roadworthy.
