This is a great opportunity to get a Defender 110 19J, which is registered in Virginia and has been in the USA since July last year. This in short, is not some recent import, that was not dirven by us! Good examples of these trucks in unmolested original state are getting harder and harder to come by at reasonable prices each year. This is a good example, is the perfect camping / adventure mobile...or you can drive it as-is reliably as a daily driver. Everyone has their own ideas of what they need in a rig (for instance paint color) and that's why we are letting this one go with the original body.
100% Legally imported and registered in the State of Virginia, with current plates and registration, not some yard art that does not have American plates! She is currently conveniently parked at our shop in the Martinsburg region along the I81 – I70 corridor, where we restore these vehicles and work on other Land Rover's. Yes, you are more than welcome to come and look.
For a 28+ year old vehicle it is in far above average condition. —> She starts right up! Drives exceptionally well! No hiccups or anything! Goes through all the gears, all lights light up like they should and simply drives exceptionally well. —>The frame (like all Land Rover ladder chassis frames) requires a good scrubbing and then anti-rust coating to add years of life, we will be doing some of this work prior to her leaving here (upon point of sale). —>As with any original or “so called freshly painted" land rover’s, rust areas such as the doors and bulkhead are inevitable. This would be no exception to the rule. Doors are currently in the processes of having the bottom rail welded in. The bulkhead is in good shape and should last for years to come with basic maintenance.
—> Paint is original! Cut and Polished, but honest and not hiding rust behind bondo and a “fresh paint” job. Vehicle is extremely honest, which is the only way to buy one of these. Nothing worse than buying one of these because it is shiny and you realize afterwards that you need thousands in regular repairs!
—> We install new radiator as a precaution in all the vehicles we get from abroad. —> As with all cars of this vintage, they all need springs, struts, suspension bushes, and a proper cleaning and chassis protection service.
We (DCRovers LLC) have personally owned the vehicle for a duration of 11+ months, here in the USA, so not some RECENT IMPORT. I know how what and where, and will gladly answer any concerns you may have. In my opinion, it is a good truck mechanically, certainly on par if not better than the trucks we usually deal with and repair on a daily basis. We will gladly do any and all to the vehicle after the auction has concluded and full payment has been received.
Please remember, this vehicle is now 28+ years old and as such has the normal expected wear for it's age due to it’s originality. Please do not come or bid expecting a showroom 110. If that is what you are looking for you, you should pay in the vicinity of 50K+ for a correctly (nut and bolt) restored vehicle. That being said, it is a great truck that is the perfect starting point for your own adventure lifestyle for years to come.
As with any auction, we reserve the right to cancel any and all bids. Go explore and live well.
