Upgrades: LT230 Transfer-case from a 1998 Discovery. These transfer-cases are lockable for better off-road control, and stronger built than the original. New Transmission, torque converter and resealed upper engine. New driveshafts. New Cooper STT Pro Mud Tires. All Fluids have been replaced.... These trucks are getting harder and harder to find as rust free example. This truck has been worked on from top to bottom. Like a Phoenix rising from the ashes, its now ready for what ever you can throw at it. This truck was left for dead 5 years ago when we purchased it. Its been sitting on the back burner as parts have been collected to rebuild this truck as it should be. The Phoenix sat neglected in a barn because the previous owner didn't know what to do with it. When it went up for sale years ago we snatched it up and have had it stored ever since. Over the years it has been being worked on as time allowed and as rare hard to get parts were sourced. Our first task was to remove the drivetrain completely and replace the transmission and transfer-case with a rebuilt transmission, and upgraded LT230. While the engine was out, the engine bay and engine was cleaned. The engine bay was painted and rust proofed. A a new radiator was installed to replace the old leaking one. The top of the engine was resealed, refreshed and tuned up. The water pump and power steering pump have also been replaced. The suspension has been upgraded to Old Man Emu Coil springs with new shocks all around. The windows all work along with the central locking, power seats and other electrics. A new battery has been installed along with a battery shut off switch in the engine bay, incase you let this truck sit a long time between drives. |
