Description of 1992 Land Rover Defender |
The VIN isSALLDVAF8JA914957, it is a non US (non-NAS) Defender his Defender is finished in Blue over a Black interior and currently shows 133,505 miles (this odometer in miles was just installed), though the original speedometer/odometer also comes with the car with currently reads 146,963 kilometers (or approx. 91,318 miles). According to the selling dealer it was recently restored, including a conversion from a hardtop to a soft-top, full repaint and interior prior from it being imported from Italy to the United States earlier in 2019. it has a 4 cylinder engine with a 5 speed manual transmission. It comes with “Boost†aluminum wheels. It is being sold a clean New Jersey title. The non-NAS (North American Specification) 1992 Defenders had the 200Tdi which was a 2.5 liter turbo diesel that produced when new 107 hp and 195 lb-ft of torque. The transmission was the LT77 (which was originally introduced in 1983) and was produced in Defenders up until 1994 when then the R380 transmission was introduced. This example runs, pulls and shifts very well. This Defender was imported from Italy earlier in 2019 and has been titled with a New Jersey title. The NJ title states 60,000 miles. Prior to being imported, it underwent a repaint, conversion from a hard-top to a soft-fop, and installation of a new Exmor interior. Once it reached the States, a Land Rover AM/FM/CD player, speakers and antenna were installed. Note that the shift knob is incorrect, as it indicates the shift pattern of the later R380 transmission with reverse to the bottom right (it is on the top left on the LT77 transmission). Overall there is no rust other than a small hole in the passenger floor, close to the firewall. Also note that the original speedometer/odometer that reads 146,963 km was installed prior to putting the vehicle up for sale with a speedo/odo that reads 133,505 miles. Both units are included in the sale. It has been updated with aluminum “Boost†wheels on General Grabber TR tires sized LT 235/85/16. The tires have manufacturer date codes of 4108. This is a really clean example that looks, drives and rides great. PPI’s welcome. |
