Description of 1993 Land Rover Defender Stock |
1993 Land Rover Defender 130 Summary: We purchased this 1993 Land Rover Defender 130 from a restaurant owner and chef in Tenerife, Spain. Used between his farm and kitchen the truck was original and intact but in need of a full restoration. Working with a local partner we had the vehicle completely dismantled and conducted a frame-off restoration between 2018 and 2019, returning the truck to near-stock configuration, with some light modifications. We are a dealer located in Marshall, Virginia, and specialize in the overseas purchase and import of these fun old trucks. The truck is currently in our showroom here in Marshall, VA: Commonwealth Classics.8382 W Main St.Marshall, VA. 20115+1 (540) 724-1395 Specs:
DrivelineLand Rover 200Tdi, four-cylinder, 2.5L turbo diesel. We pulled and restored the original motor, high/low gearbox, and LT77 5-speed manual transmission. Chassis was stripped, blasted, and repaired with replacement metal panels where rust was impacting outriggers. We added heavy-duty springs up front to account for the extra weight added by the ARB bumper and Warn 8,000lbs winch. The truck had 210,443 KM when purchased. We replaced the KPH speedometer with a new MPH speedometer during the restoration. The original KPH speedometer conveys with the sale. We currently have less than 200 miles on the truck, though we continue to add mileage to it here in Virginia as it sits with us. Skid plate installed under the motor. Currently wearing the outgoing 2015 Defender-spec tires, 235/85/16 Goodyear Wrangler MT/R tires. The fifth spare is mounted on the hood. Springs are OEM spec, though with the 'tall skinny' tires the truck might sit a shade higher than stock. Truck has a dual battery setup to provide extra power for the winch and stereo. Exterior Truck was restored in it's original NATO White. Doors were replaced, and body panels, along with the bulkhead and hood, were carefully repaired and prepared for paint to minimize body filler. The result is a rust-free, clean, straight truck. Four folding steps currently being fitted. High-capacity bed floor had cracked; rather than repairing the aluminum we opted to make sure the rig could do work for another 25 years, adding a steel reinforcement into the floor of the bed before paint, matching the ribbed pattern of the HCPU for a stock look and a durable rig. We otherwise restored the truck to near-stock, with original handles, lights, mirrors, etc. The steel ARB-front bumper is currently being fitted with a Warn 8,000 lbs winch. Interior We put the truck back to stock, restoring the dash and interior with OEM gauges, panels, etc. We retained the stock fabric seats, as they're NLA, although we're finishing up the installation of a 130W four channel stereo, 2-1/4" WWII Waltham cockpit clock, and a center cubby box with cup holders. The original steering wheel has been replaced with a more streamlined all-black Nardi wheel. Fine Print Truck purchased in Spain Aug. 2017. Restored in Spain between 2018 and 2019. Imported to Marshall VA in 2020. Truck conveys with clear Virginia title. We are a licensed dealership here in Virginia and need to complete the Federally required Buyers Order and Buyers Guides as a part of the sale. Questions are encouraged and payment is required within a week of purchasing. Pre-purchase inspections and test-drivesare also encouraged. Not local? We're happy to jump on Facetime or a WhatsApp video call. Just ask. Truck is advertised as-is and does not convey with a warranty. We are available to help facilitate ground transportation to your driveway, and will have a final set of photos as we finish the winch and stereo install over the next week. We are also able to help with international delivery via RoRo or Container. CommonwealthClassics. 8382 W Main St. Marshall VA. 20115. |
