These vehicles were steadily improved under the direction of Henry's high society son, Edsel Ford and became his raison d'etre, when Ford's purchase of Lincoln from Henry Leland in 1922, after their bankruptcy, was completed. It can be said, without Edsel's influence, the Lincoln's would have remained high quality, a standard they established under Leland, but not particularly stylish or elegant. Locke went out of business in 1937.
A classic from the "Roaring 20's" and pre depression era, these cars ranked as some of the finest in the world and are from the "The Golden Era" of American automobiles, along with Packard, Pierce Arrow, etc., yet Lincoln has survived! An impressive car with a lot of "presence"! The term, "they don't make em' like this anymore", is very apropos when viewing this vehicle in person, sense it's quality, grand proportions and picture yourself behind the wheel, top down, arriving in style, or waving to the crowd, in the local parade! Guaranteed to stir up emotions, put a smile on people's faces, including your own, everywhere you go, including Rodeo Drive & Worth Ave!(and anywhere in between!)
