Description of 1979 Lincoln Continental Town Coupe |
Thank you for looking at my post for my 1979 Lincoln. The car has just over 4,700 original miles. This mileage is also on the title. I purchased the car as part of an estate of the former owner of a Ford dealership. As you can see on the pictures, car is in very nice shape, but it's not museum quality. The car runs and drives well. The brakes are good. The battery is brand new. One of the tires is also brand new because one of the original tires was dry rotted and it was unrepairable. I think the other 3 should also be replaced, they hold air and have good tread, yet I would not recommend driving long distance with them. The interior is in great shape. The Cartier clock works. All the lights work, all the turn signals work, electric antenna and radio work. The remote for the power seats also works. I think the air conditioner is empty because it was sitting in a garage all these years. Also, some of the electric windows do not work. The car has an original 8-track player with box of assorted 8 tracks included. The paint on the car has been repainted one time but from what I can see, it is not recent paint. The old title on the car was issued in 2012, and from this time the car has only been used less than 300 miles. I think the car is priced fairly. I see many cars like this on eBay that have many more miles and have sold for more than $10,000. So I think with a little work on the details- windows, a/c, etc. that this still can be a great deal for someone. I have a clear title in my name and it's ready for immediate transfer after payment is cleared. I prefer to the sell the car to someone who will pick it up, so they can complete inspection and payment at the same time. I would like to see the car go in a good home, and the condition it is in now it can be used for weekend drives and showing. Thanks. The leather roof on the car is in good shape, without any cracks or rips. The windshield does not have any cracks. The car has some spots where a touch up is needed. I've include a picture to show this spots. Overall, great condition for a car that is almost 40 years old. I have tried to represent this car as accurately as I can. Please understand that this car is like a garage or barn-find car. This is the first car I'm selling on here and I'm not a car dealer. I sell motorcycle and car parts, but am not a car seller. So, I prefer that someone comes to inspect the car before buying it. The car is sold as is, without warranty. The car is also posted locally on craigslist so I reserve the right to end this listing anytime. |
